OMG what a ride! I would have been scared to death! My Scout just saved my life by plowing thru a snow drift instead of into the back of the stopped traffic pileup at a busy intersection! Love that 4 wheeler. She started to roll, I don't know what we did but she and I survived intack and 4 wheels solid in the snow. I LOVE my 1980 Scout II!

If you were to take any other vehicle that was set up the same way your Scout is, there would be no way anything else could do something like that.I had a 72 Scout II and no matter how hard I tried it never got stuck even if forward momentum was lost it would always back out no matter where it was and it was always pulling someone else out of the mud, as I would drive around them to hook to the front of there truck!!! Scout,The original SUV- Nothing else compares.

My dad had an 1980 Scout with the Nissan Diesel engine. He plowed snow with it.  It had a ton of torque. He bought me a 78 Scout II with a 345 and a plow for my 16th birthday. All hail to the Scouts. I wish they still made them!!!

no lockers, dana 44's with 4.27 gears, 14 1/2" of lift with 35" swamppers, 392 and a heavy foot. I just recently upgrade to dana 60 and a 14 bolt with 4.56 gears and 38" tires. Have not got to take it out yet though.
