  • Last time I saw these old Mortiers they had all had there original key frames removed and new verbeeck ones fitted. They did not play any better for this. I just wish people would leave them alone and make the original parts work. Perhaps the old key frames from these wonderful examples will find there way on to new organs? Its a great pitty.

  • @orchestrophone Some times it's not cost effective to repair something that won't last as long as a newly built item.

  • @JonathanSmith90 You talk rubbish!

  • @orchestrophone I doubt that...

  • @JonathanSmith90 No you really do talk rubbish! Have you ever restored a keyframe at all. Who are you to make any comments.

  • GAAAH! what is that 1st song! ive heard it somwhere b4!

  • aint this the mexican hat song

  • no its not mexican sat on his hat. But ive heard it somwhere b4 and i forgot what its called!

  • La Raspa

Search here on youtube and you find a lot of examples :-)

  • Merci pour la vidéo ! Pour info, il y a aussi des Mortier à Continental Superstar, Bruxelles ... Mais peut-être viennent-ils de cette collection ? Bonne semaine !

  • I love old Mortier organs... there is just something about there sound that the newer ones (1930-1950) just don't have for me.

  • Man,i love the older too. Real "temples" of organ. The facades are overwhelming.

  • P.S. thanks for posting this, good video!

  • What serial number is this organ? It was supposedly made in 1912. It has an identical twin in Wisconsin, USA, at House On The Rock. Actually, only the facade of the latter organ is being used, as the basis for the "Blue Danube" music machine (see other youtube videos and search google for more photos of this thing). I don't know what they did with the chassis. Another Mortier at HOTR (#663) became the famous "Mikado", this time both pipes and facade being used (though not the chassis).

  • Inoubliables souvenirs dans ce "Cafés des Orgues". A preserver, a visiter.

Je fais un voeux, celui que l'ambiance n'y change jamais !

  • "Le Palais des Orgues Mortier", à Herzeele, l'endroit où les orgues sont vivants et font toujours danser les gens tous les dimanches après-midi.

"Organs Mortier Palace", in Herzeele, the place where organs are alive and make dancing people every sunday evening.

  • whats the name of the tune?..

    and i like it.

  • The tune is "la raspa", arranged for a lot of Mortier organs, also for De Kluisberg.

  • Doesn't sound that bad in the recording. Nice to hear some of the typical registers that you'd only find in an old Mortier organ. And a nice song at that!
