@ibmark2u2 You can! I saw some company out of England found some old Vox parts and are having them assembled in Italy...they will set you back a grand on ebay.
This is one of those old Battle of the Bands, that they used to have back in the late 60's. i remember one where a band did Light my Fire. They were hilarious then. Thanks for downloading.
I'm from the general vicinity of west TX, and the accent makes me kinda vomit... Sorry if I'm not as overwhelmed as everyone else...if this is your jam, also check out when Ginger, Mary Ann and Mrs. Howell formed The Honeybees...
Ohmygosh!! I love to watch this video. Jeanie foster is now Jeanie struck she is my grandmother. Seeing this is so amazing! And that y'all love it so much. Makes me happy. (:
@kaybear121 Very cool. But waaaah, now I can't mock this video. Not my kind of music, even back then. But they were kids, and surely had a blast on the show. Lucky her. (this was a cover of the Outsider's hit, from my town of Cleveland)
@kaybear121 Kay...I just loved this video! Tell your grandmother THANKS becuase if it was'nt for her there may have never been all girl rock bands like the Runnawys , Heart, or the Go Go's. Simply put....grandma was a rock pioneer!
@phunboy - yeah, they released a couple 45s, they show up on ebay every now and then at affordable prices, one occassionaly rockets.....i believe they sold most of the singles at their gigs....if you google cicadelic(dot)com & the heart beats, you'll find a bit of an interview and background.....the singles were also released on a compilation 'the heart beats and other texas girls'....i don't know if it's still in print but i picked up a copy on ebay
@phunboy the "presenters" are Mark Lindsey on the left and Paul Revere on the right...respectively from Paul Revere and the Raiders...not sure why you think they are "creeps"...they were a lot older than the teeny bopper girls, so it had to been a little disconcerting for both the girls and Mark and Paul...they certainly treated them respectfully...different strokes for different folks as Sly used to say ;)
@phunboy=the presenters=Mark Lindsay & Paul Revere from the band Paul Revere & the Raiders, who were actually a great band..got picked to host a TV show & were all over the TV but lost their credibility as a result I think .They're a bit charmless=sideeffect of them being a band trying to fake being TV personalities .In those days on the many many shows of this type, was usual to perform then field a few questions=noone does that today. Questions/answers werent rehearsed so they R all winging it!
@wmprokipchak i saw Peter Noone on some afternoon show and he sounded terrible.i think it really solidified his end.he should have lived on royalities.
I could picture Zooey Deschanel when listening too/watching this....

This may have been one of the first all-girl groups to play instruments while performing and on their records, some fifteen years before the Go-Gos.

Whos the drummer? She's a hottie. Those guitars are probably worth a mint now. Amazing this stuff still exists. So rare.

@funyun2 Not a bad cover, the original was done by the Outsiders from Cleveland, Ohio, which is posted on Youtube.

Really great. Just as good as "Cryin' inside".
The girls are as cute as buttons but what a couple of creeps the presenters are!
Did these songs actually get released on 45s?- I've been looking for years and have never come across any of their records ...

I would have liked to hear them do the finish to the song. Good version. But I'd still would've liked to hear the fast paced ending.
