  • @darkshadowscene. Thx, now I'm cancelling my trip to Europe. Not selling my silver EVO X 5 spd here in Australia. Instead, ECU remap for 75HP & super dump-back exhaust system-35HP? I have MR perf pack-Bilsteins, Eichbachs & 14 lb weight saving from 2-piece Brembo rotors for heat dissipation and forged BBS wheels. Fuck it handles! Super All Wheel Control = F/R diff torque split + Left/Right rear torque split for Super Yaw Control + Auto Skid Control + EBD + ABS. Enough euro restaurants here.

  • @Dfrogman Not to mention AWD cars have a much higher parasitic loss do to the extra drivetrain. 310 at the wheels on an AWD car is in the realm of 360ish HP I imagine at the crank.

  • Actually, from most of the people that have driven all of them, the Evo 6 is usually people's 1st choice that they would want to own. (It was the last car made before they changed the homologation rules, so it actually had to be close to the rally car specs)

  • with all the computer shit and oxygen sensors, and shit like that in cars now days, its hard for them to run rich...cars would run rich when they didnt have 02 sensors, or the cam was bad, or they had a new one, or the carb was fucked....very hard for modern cars to run lean/rich cause its all adjusted on the fly by the computer

  • On an evo; When the MAF Sensor value gets into a certain range of flow rating calculated against engine load % the evo starts running rich from factory to ensure detonation does not occour.

  • Can someone please explain to me how these dyno runs work, like the car gets to a point in high revs, then it just dies down from there, have they just simply taken the foot off the accelerator once they reach an rpm they're comfortable with?

  • put it in 3rd gear, from low rpm, and step down till it hits the rev limiter, then yes they take their foot off the gas.

  • you use 4th gear for the 1/1 gear ratio. But yes rev to redline or more if the car is made for it.

  • The horse power drops down because peak HP is not at peak revs.

  • The IX's are slightly faster in the quarter mile than the X's. The X's have better handling.

    Both are good cars, but IX's are loud and uncomfortable (I have a IX)... the X is very comfortable when compared to a IX.

    Both have questionable build quality... rust on the IX and pedals that snap off on the X.

  • each of those engines has its strengths and weaknesses, the 4g is by no means a inferior engine, the 4b was just designed specifically for this use so in this application it works best, both are great engines and i know the 4g is one of the best tuning engines out there, idk how the 4b will turn out yet.

  • this guy aint lieing, 4G63 is the engine they used in eclipse gst and gsx, the 4B11T will eat the stock 4G63. the evo x just has more technology and thats the only reason it goes 0-60 a little quicker, few slight mods could fix that though
