Have you tried adjusting the Look Sensitivity in the options menu? Maybe that's the problem. I have mine set to 100 (then again, I was using a gamepad to play so it could vary for the mouse). On the game's title screen, go to Options -> Settings -> Controls -> Look Sensitivity. You should see the Look Sensitivity option set to a number (in my case, 100). See if that helps, if it doesn't, let me know.

This was my favourite childhood game (apart from J+D). Its a shame they fucked up the latest one, Driver San Francisco which I just wasted £40 on.

Have you tried the period ( . ) button? According to the "preferred" (default) controls, that is the button used to accelerate. Myself, I played with a gamepad and I had it set up like the PS2 controls (where X is to go) but according to the controls menu in-game, the period button on your keyboard should make the car accelerate.

@NostalgiaGamesProd I made it work... at default, "æ"(im norwegian) was accelerate and "-" was braking. there was no turning buttons lol... but I changed it so that it's more like GTA games... but I didn't play the game very long, I figured it was one of the worst games I have ever played...

It's an in-game track composed by Marc Canham (pretty sure all of the in-game music is composed by him). And I agree, it definitely sets the mood for a new day.

Great game IMHO, probably this game was very underrated and low rated cause of the infinite glitches and the stiff controls, but other than that it was pretty good, I enjoyed a lot.

So you're saying that you can't control Tanner basically. Are you having a tough time mapping the keyboard to your liking to play the game or are you using a gamepad? If you are using a gamepad, try looking up the PS2 controls online and mapping them as close as possible on your gamepad. If you are using a keyboard, I would try to just learn the default controls (but in all honesty, I would just buy a gamepad to play this game... Makes life much easier).

I just looked up the in-game keyboard controls. Assuming you use the default layout for the keyboard, it's NUM 5 to shoot. I used a Logitech Rumblepad 2 to play this game and I used the Joy6 button (R1 on Playstation controllers).

In terms of cameras for recording videogames... me personally, I would just get a TV tuner and record videogame footage from consoles that way. But if you are just looking to record gameplay from a TV with a camera placed in front of it, any camcorder will do. So you've used FRAPS to play CSS? Nice, I used to play that a few years ago (stil have my copy at home, have to break it out sometime). As for schooling, been here at SVA for 3 weeks already and am used to it.

There's two Driver games after this one, Parallel Lines and 76, and now Driver San Francisco is in development,

Wow, you're right! The only thing I could see as to why it doesn't show his hat in the rearview mirror is because maybe they don't show enough of his head... But it seems to me that they show plenty of his head in the rearview so you probably would have seen it. Maybe Atari didn't catch that in the end or they just didn't care. Good eye!

Yep, I do have Driver 1... for both PSX and PC lol. I have beaten Driver 1 also. I originally started a run on my laptop but never completed it (got towards the end of Miami) due to Fraps not being able to record the cut scene where Tanner picks up the phone and talks to a contact (this glitch happened on ePSXe). I really should start the walkthrough again and this time get somewhere haha.

My graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT with 512 MB and I have 4 GB of ram. As for the lag, I was having trouble with it in the later missions in Miami. What the problem was was that I wasn't playing the game with the CD in the drive (it allows you to play it without it). I now play the game with the CD in the drive and my lag is gone.

It should be, your best bet would be to check your local Gamestop or other retailer that still carries PS2 titles. I actually got the PS2 version from a friend 2 years ago and he bought it used at a Gamestop for about $10 (I traded him a Monster iPod Cassette Adapter for the game lol). But yea, it should be still available at some retail stores, you probably just have to look around at the ones that still sell PS2 titles. If you can't find it in stores, online would be your next best option.

Actually, Tanner doesn't get killed. In the next "Driver" installment, "Parallel Lines" there's a wall with graffiti on it that reads, "Tanner Lives." I thought he died as well but when I saw that message, I found out that he survived.
