This movie was originally be filmed and set in Mexico with Silvia Pinal (Viridiana) and Ernesto Alonso (Ensayo de un crimen) as protagonists. Deneuve's voice had to be dubbed for she did not master the language, such a pity!! It would have been a marvelous Mexican film, just like Nazarin, Simon del desierto, The Exterminanting Angel, or Viridiana and Los Olvidados, both of Mexican origin.

@Grecia1401 i don´t think Silvia would´ve had been a good choice, she was "ok" in viridiada. Por otro lado Luis Buñuel fue un Genio, mi Director favorito de todos los tiempos....
