  • hi guys

got the software and it is asking for a usb ir sensor, i dont have one but have a dell latatude c510-c610 with an internal ir sensor installed.

is there a way of fooling windows or the program to think it is a usb ir sensor

BTW i am running windows xp 32bit and the software has installed fine

  • I think I can make the USB thing...

  • funny

  • What is the music on this?

  • The starting song is "I Am The Robot" and then after that is "Blue Dreams" and last "Sadly, Swiftly, Softly".

  • hey i lost my remote will this work on the older on the fat one lol

  • @roschler Are you going to make one for Mac?

  • @MovieMonster9 - not at this time but I believe that it works with something like CrossOver or Parallels. I haven't tried it myself but there have been reports from others.

  • @roschler OK, my dad is gonna get me crossover, but have people reported that they don't need a USB UIRT, and the mac has a built in reciver? Because I don't wan't my parents to waste their money on this stuff, they mostly don't want to.

  • @MovieMonster9 - I'm not sure if Robdance runs on Crossover, I've only heard reports from *others* that it does. I've never tested it myself so you need to be careful. I also don't now if a USB UIRT will work with a Mac even with Crossover. If you're worried about wasting money, then you should not do this.

  • @roschler OK, I decided to transfer robodance to my Windows XP laptop using my jumpdrive, do you know a good USB UIRT that is cheap?

  • @MovieMonster9 - Unfortunately there is only one vendor for them so finding discounts is hard. I don't know of any.

  • I am sorry to be a bother, but i was recently on the Robodance website and saw that it will support the Wall-e robot when it is released. The robot has been released and i am asking you to make support for it. I own the U-Command Wall-e and it is also infared controlled. You said on the sight that if they are infared then they could easily be supported by Robodance. . I only have my wall-e robot Cordell and am asking you to please let this support happen.

    CryptoDah2. Please Respond.

  • Sweet Voice!

and ive seen none on ebay.

  • okay thanks for your time

  • do you have to have a usb uirt or can i use something else?

  • Please visit the web site and read the help. All the questions you have asked so far are on the site. Thanks.

  • how can i get a usb uirt to australia?

  • I don't know. Did you try asking the vendor if they would ship there?

  • which equepment do i need for the version 3 software?.do you need a laptop because i dont have one i have a pc with windows.

  • You need a Windows PC running Windows 2000 or better, XP preferably.

  • Go to the link and subscribe to the mailing list which will give you the instructions.

  • Visit the link in the video notes. But before you do that, you should watch my new i-SOBOT WiiMote video first.

  • how do you acctually download the software?

  • LOVED THE VIDEO! WELL DONE. I was hoping if you could help me out? I'm thinking of buying a Robosapien or a Robosapien RS media, But i dont know which is better? im looking for a robot that is better for walking around, picking items up and arm control. So can you please tell me which robot is better. THANKYOU

  • Mr. happy...

    Robbie...

Teach them some normal names man :P

    Just joking

  • dose it work with robopet

  • yes.

  • Extremely good tutorial man, you are so freakin' awesome, very well directed, very clear, and easy to watch!

  • What can the mini robosapien do?? i dont have much money..

  • It walks, that's about it.

  • oh, i guess ill ask for a real one on christmas

  • you could get one on ebay for about 80 bucks thats were i got mine

  • go mr happy

  • lol. Robbie, quit squeezing elmos as-

  • thats pretty cool

  • at 1:15 u spelled wii like this (wi)

  • "get your own drink"

I liked how you interacted with the script you constructed for the robot, the wait in between commands is useful, too.

Can the Wii remote also be used on different WowWee robots, like Roboraptor, or Robopet?

  • Yes it can, but I have not released that version yet, will soon.

  • oh, and what does he say in the diode trick?

i think he says: "bite my diode unit!"

    is that correct?

  • haha mister happy, he is called mr. Happy because he is very happy to bite, you. haha awsome1

  • how much do they cost?

  • Just the robot, all the other stuff too used in the video?

  • the name is o damn long lol

  • Nice Video roschler iam still waiting for my v2 but i already have a roboraptor to pass some time and where did u get that usb uirt?..

  • I got the uirt from UsbUirt-dot-com.

  • ha ha.. wow.. that was pretty neat.. thanks for sharing.. didn't even mean to watch this video, but after about a minute i decided to watch the whole thing.. pretty frickin sweet dude.. me likes how robosapien says.. " hey baby " that's cute..

  • Man, you should create a group thing for in Boise. Like, a little convention, people bring in their Robo's and they can give tips, share scripts, and just welcome people who'd like to learn about Robo's :D! I would defo go and drag my friend and her fam along :]

  • Thanks for the kind words, that's a good idea. In the meantime people can share scripts online with Robodance's Personality Bank.

  • God, some one I subscribed to spams so many vids I didn't see this. This was AWESOME <3 I don't have a Robosapien STILL, but if I ever in a million years get the money I am.. and I'll refer back to this. It seems like it will be very helpful for me!

  • great video guy

  • Amazing! This video is featured on Yahoo's "The 9" today.

  • obsessong, a Big Thank You for letting me know!

  • i gotta admit, that rules!

  • I JUST CANT wAIT FOR MY V2!!!

  • And then the RS Media, and then the Roboquad, and then ... :)

  • you sound so excited

  • oh boy thats cool when i get my hands on my new v2 ill try it out ( using factory remote though :P )

  • why does he have to waddle like that when he walks? looks like it just makes him unstable. cool robot though

  • It's a style of walking that uses "resonance" to move the robot. The robot builds up a weight shifting movement that causes it to rock or "waddle" as you said and that's how it moves. It's not the prettiest thing to see but it's why the robot doesn't cost a king's ransom like a true bipedal robot would (Asimo, etc.).

Who ransoms kings anyways these days?

  • This also uses something called "nervous net" technology, and is based on the nervous systems of simple animals, unlike the Asimo, which uses conventional computer-programs.

If the Asimo used something like this, I'll bet it would fall over less often, and run longer too.

  • You sound like a robot yourself lol

  • How do you know I'm not a robot? :)

  • Assumption.... of course

  • I laughed when you said the name of the software is "too damn long"

    Cool video

  • Thanks. :)

  • it can do that?

  • Yes, with the help of the Robodance software.
