You know...this is actually one of the VERY BEST gear videos I´ve come across on Youtube, ever. Why? Because gearmandude knows that you have to show not only the pedal you´re working with but also the axe, the amp, their settings, etc. Thumbs up, gearmandude. THIS is how it is done. More, please.
I can't find too many schematics for a BMP Tone Wicker pedal, so does anyone know if there's some circuit goo between the switches and such that cause a loss of the "original" muff sound? It just doesn't sound like a plain old NY Big Muff that I've played a lot on. Maybe a little bit of capacitance and such stuck in the signal?
whoa, that guy talks just like jack black. but! the big muff and the "little" big muff are exactly the same and go for the same price. there was no difference.
if your into big muffs check out the big muff with wicker, soo nice.
i have an idea for a fuzz pedal....the look of it anyways...and the name...ok the name ....you ready??......"The Fuzz" and have it the same color as a police car....and when you turn it on instead of having a boring red light you have police lights goin off....and if anyone wants this idea i have it patented and will sell
I once broke my hand. In the hospital the guy who put my hand back together had the voice of the doctor from the TV show M.A.S.H. to this day I remember the uncanny match.
@MrSkAtEfReAk12 go for the lpb-1. it's entire purpose is to boost! plus it's a bit cheaper, can't beat that! but the best thing to do actually would be to try out both pedals yourself and decide then.
@RLYHYPERGUY True, true. On the other hand, I want a boost that adds a bit of gain and sustain, so that's why I might be looking for an overdrive rather than 'just' a boost. I propably will just test them, but since I don't really have a good shop near me, it'll take som time!
@MrSkAtEfReAk12 If you're looking for a gain and sustain boost then another good choice would be the Boss SD-1. The most important thing though is that you try all of them out. It will take time and patience since you don't have a good shop near you but it'll be worth it!
@bumsex4me the little is between the current and a russian muff in terms of tone. each one has a slightly different sound, my favorite is the ramhead for the tight low end and smooth distortion
@bumsex4me he did another demo of them all but instead of the muff overdrive he had the muff with tone wicker, its a much better comparison cos the camera is a lot clearer as is the sound. and to answer your question (based on the other video) i think the original big muff actually sounded BIGGER than the others, hope that helped.
@teamhex when you have the muff off, is your guitar sound clean or a little dirty??? to get that mean thick tone, you have to have the guitar a little bit dirty with the pedal...
@cobracarg Its always been clean. I just started experimenting with over driving my Deville when using effects with it. I found some that sound insanely awesome. I bet thats what it was. Ill have to try that next jam session
i bought an original 70's BM-PI for 15 bucks in 1986 not a big deal then money wise same pedal would fetch 7oo bucks if some retard would pay that -not me the new ones are the same damn pedal i love the crushing gain these get just nasty ass fuzz/distortions daddy-o's
The Little Big Muff Is the same as the original but It's in a smaller box, and the components are smaller in the Little Big Muff. I don't think this affects a lot though.
mmm... the little big muff reminds me of my sovtek big muff pi... i own as well a nano muff and is SUCH a bizarre overdrive, i set it at 9 o clock and it sounds really strange, as a gated fuzz-overdrive really dirty and unpredictable... love it before a wah
Gearmanndude, let me clear up your confusion with the Muff. The MUFF was made before the BIG MUFF and is a different pedal, that's why it sounds nothing like a BIG MUFF.
holy guacamolliiiiiii man that is one sweeet set up u got there.... and a wall full of beaties . Very nice comparison, helped me a lot in choosing which of the three to buy so thanks a bunch man.
sounds awesome but i got the boss ds-2 for christmas last year an i also have the ds-1 and when i switch them on at once they also have an awesome distorted not to say fuzzy tone so i think i dont need another fuzz pedal but its awesome
