What a great upload, thanx! I'm not a big John Wayne fan, but I've always loved this one and "The Sands of Iwo Jima", I have it open in another tab. Cheers!!
I Seebee, John Wayne Who spent the war making films pretending to fight the war, while other actors went a really fought the war. Wayne a pretend hero among real hero's. Ill not watch this film or any of his films.
my great grand father was a sea bee in ww2 302 NCB..... there was an account of him driving a bulldozer and killing a jap machine gun, i wish i could of met him, he died in the 60's
Interesting when you watch the tropical island scenes during the last half-hour and later find out that they were all shot at the old Iverson movie ranch in Chatsworth, CA. I've read that art directors rounded up old telephone poles and nailed palm fronds on them to make the rocky terrain (mainly used to shoot westerns) look tropical and loaded with palm trees. Thanks for posting!
Great Movie to watch over and over and I salute the All Brave Men of the Construction Battalions, because without them...supplies, repairs etc would not be achieved.
John Wayne is still the King. if alive would be about 105 today roughly. thanks for the JW movies mate cheers. regards- Luke, from Australia

To be a Japanese-American actor playing a Japanese sniper in 1944 must've been shameful. They must've really needed the job.
