  • Very sad. I grew up a Sabres fan, and the main reason was the French Connection and our family trips to Buffalo for pizza and Fantasy Island. Rick was one of my favorites. I had a Sabres t-shirt as a child with the number 7 and Martin on the back. A couple of years ago, I happened to meet Martin and Robert at an RV store at the Galleria Mall. It was a thrill to meet them, they were very nice, and they happily answered my stupid questions. Rick Martin will be missed. He was a nice guy.

  • Rick is the second Buffalo Sabre to die in a car accident. The first being Tim Horton in 1974.

  • I am sad..Rick Martin won't be here to enjoy the Sabres future and promise of Stanley Cups..He'll have to watch from above.
