@guy12349 That's just being bitter. Great president is subjective but he's definitely a good man. Took the high road during elections and always treated his opponents with respect. Also leads a great family. Don't be ridiculous.
@manwithoutfear05 ya the Comedy Central roasts are all scripted, and for some reason the roaster routinely has to go through everyone in the pit. these roasts of Dean Martin were funny and substantial and went right to the funny bone of the roastee
Reagan skyrocketed the deficit, escalated the cold war, began the widening gap between rich and poor, and sold illegal arms to the contras. Beneath the charisma alot of illegality and scummy behavior.
Why do people think Reagan was so great? He withheld information that could have curbed the AIDS plague, he spent like a wildman and lowered taxes, leaving the tax hike to the next president, and, honestly, I believe it was Nancy in the final three or four years running the show, I think Ronald Reagan was already starting to go downhill from Alzheimer's disease.
@MrQuantaK "I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; (continued below)
and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." - Abraham Lincoln, September 18, 1858

@lukepleaseshutup I don't want to get into any deep political discussion, but FDR extended the depression by years, not to mention he, along with LBJ, W Bush, and Obama are the entitlement kings of this country. Lincoln is a whole different kind of bad that I won't get into. I give you JFK, as I think he was a good president and had the potential to be one of the better ones if not for his murder by the CIA. Reagan wasn't the best ever, but he was good. His charisma is undeniable.
Single greatest president? Uh, no...he was very charismatic, helped end the Cold War, and had some great policies, but I mean, better than Lincoln? Washington? Kennedy? Roosevelt?
@GhettoGinny Detroit was dying at least two decades before Reagan's presidency. Small European and Japanese cars got their first footholds back when Detroit was still insisting that the public would only buy their fuel-slurping, badly assembled land yachts. By the time they wised up, it was too late.
@thinkgood Indeed. Not just Ronald Reagan, but have you noticed how funny all these old time comics were without all the vile language and crass sexual innuendo? They were truly funny, unlike the sewage that all the bereft squatters guffaw at in this day and age.
@milliondollartruth loved by 'reagan democrats' HA that's like saying reagan should be president because 99.9 percent of americans would not personally shoot him.
Frank helped Kennedy, a Democrat, carry Chicago through his friends. More than 10 years later the chairman helped Reagan, a Republican, to win governor of California.

If you were a college student in the 1980s, Reagan raised your taxes so rich people could pay less.
