I've been playing reunion, but for some reason, my ship is only firing it's lasers on one side. Is this a bug or did I do something to the interface.

Check your ships outfitting. You may have your weapon groupings set wrong. If you have for instance 6 hard-points for weapons...go ahead and figure 3 for each side. 3 on the starboard side and 3 on the port side. You may only have one side of your ship's weapon systems activated.

I played freelancer, i loved it.Now I just get into this game and there are many things what i dont like in contrast with freelancer. How can i travel faster with my ship? I cant believe there is no afterburner and cruize engine on every ship...(I know about a plugin wich makes available to buy an afterburner in shops but come on!) Instead of these,the programmers found out there are Time Accelerators in ships.. well.. congratz to them :S really awesome...this is totally kills the game for me..

Plus the camera view is totally sucks as it is somehow fixed with the ships movement. I dont like the whole control of the ship neither. Freelancer was so perfect in control. I dont like i cant land on planets or i cant enter in stations. The only thing what caught me, is the beautifull graphics. But i think i have to say Freelancer was 100x better game than this. Sorry to say, but i am disappointed.

whats wrong with the time accelirators?? they make game up to 10 time speed so you can get a good factory production up and running giving you money :P although i agree with you on the whole camra movement thing, and i guess having a afterburner would make things more interesting in a fight or something i agree with you on alot of those things actually but overall i still think the game is VERY good i like building large empires :P

I believe Freelancer is a more casual experience. Afterburners were on a few of the ships, but typically you could get one installed. Time Acceleration is there because the world is bloody massive. And that kinda cuts down on the transit time when your moving from one sector to the next. But I've moved on to X3: Terran Conflict...which is frankly much more improved. Either way though, X3 is a sand-box game primarily. It's kinda more targeted at the hardcore.

It's a purely sand-box game. You kinda have to give yourself things to do... Certainly it's a more-or-less niche crowd that is going to enjoy it. But for those of us that do. It's a wonderful game.

Nice to know my silly vid could bring some more people into the X-Universe. You should really look into picking up X3:Terran Conflict reka. Only if your machine is pretty beefy though. If not go ahead and pickup X3: Reunion.

Wait did you play that with a joystick or mouse? Also I played the demo and I kept dieing because my ship probably sucked and the demo is rigged where they come at you every 10 minutes. If I bought the full version would it be easier for me to win? Or do I need a joystick also?

I was playing using the Mouse/Keyboard. Just feels natural enough for me I guess that I never bothered with the joystick.  Funny too since I own a Saitek X-52 FCS. lol

Its not a game for dog fight's more tactical and its all about money in this game i remember playing X2 For ages and i had a huge fleet total of 20 Odd fully geared cap ships including full fleets within that truley unstoppable

the X-Universe games are essentially 4X Games. Open World Sandbox games that have almost limitless possibilities. Ehh - Just load it up, and dive in and slowly but surely (Requires a lot of dedication) build an empire to take over the known galaxy. lol

/quite/ different. Freelancer gives you a bit of "Superman syndrome" You always have to fight tonnes of less powerful enemies and getting huge amounts of money. X3 is not like that, it's a lot harder and has a fair learning curve to it. But it's definetly a rewarding game, and if you have the time, get it! you can also buy capital ships, and own more than one ship and give them orders. Again, this sin't a feature in freelancer.

great game. Im playing it again with the massive XTM mod pack which includes a crap load of new ships and zones, They also have a random sector creator that will pretty much give you a different new game everytime. The only thing that would make this game perfect is a FPS mode where you can walk around your ship and stations rather than being stuck in the ship the whole time. ( you can actually go out of ship but doesnt count )

1. No you cannot, it would be unrealistic and X3 is as realistic as it gets.

2. Yes, but space is big, so you won't find much outside of the main sectors (I.E. where everything is). The game is divided up into sectors accessed through gates, though you can fly into space until your CPU crashes, literally.

You can pretty much create your own massive fleet in-game when you've built up the resources. Your talking a couple hundred hours of playtime though.
