Zechs was a man of Honor. A soldier, he never needed Special equipment, He wass no ''New type'' He didnt need all the things that the later characters had, Like Dragoons, or funnels. He was a true Soldier. He treated all around him with respect, even his enemies. He is a true warrior, in every sense of the word.
Zechs is the best Mobile Pilot in all Gundam Series in my opinion, not like this future Heroes like Kira Yamato or Azrun :) He has willpower, can control the Tallgeese perfectly without any special System and the mobile Suit is that much strong that he may kill his controller. Absolutly awsome :) Thumbs up if you think so too :D
Zechs was intended to be the heir to the Sanc Kingdom, a peaceful nation that lived by the unwavering belief and doctrine of Total Pacifism. Zechs true nature though was that of a soldier. He inevitably became a highly skilled soldier that thrived in the deadliest of battlefields. His integrity and death-hampered conscience forced him to reject his place in the Sanc Kingdom and his Legacy....
Even if Talgeese III had the Zero system, Zechs no longer had a need for it. He had conquered his inner demons, knew he had to balance peace with the ever-present need for Knights to defend it, and his skill in battle could only be equaled by Heero Yui - now an Ally, not an enemy.
Zechs also goes out of his way, in Endless Waltz, to never kill anyone again. The Zero system was made to kill, period.
Zero was a symbol of the murderous attitude that started the war.
Also, during the original series, he was fighting himself more than anything else. Milliardo Peacecraft, or Zechs Merquise: Which was his "real self", and which was the right personality to create the future mankind needed?
"Just watch, I'll live, right to the bitter end! I'll live the hard life of a Warrior!" - again explaining that he couldn't go back to the "peace loving son" his father raised. Too much blood on his hands. Humanity also needed his "death" to prove that War was wrong.
You guys bring up a good point. However, even if Talgeese III had the Zero system, I doubt Zechs would have used it again.
In his mind, it had already served it's purpose. He used it to "reveal his destiny", so to speak, and also to end the war more quickly
The end of EP49 explains this a little:
"Your too pure and too kind, but I guess that's what gives you the right to live." - basically meaning that he knew he and the Zero system were no longer needed. Mere fighting wouldn't save the future.
to add to my previous comment if the tallgeese had the zero system in it during the battle of endless waltz it would have been the same outcome Zechs owning all and everyone wondering what happened
the TALLGEESE is a beast pure ans simple it ozes pure power and talk a skilled ploit to bring out it true power thats y its a beast and it was frist suit to kill moble doll in space without being upgraded
2.18 is from ep. 18 "Tallgeese Destroyed" (Romefeller has isued execution orders for Zechs, cause his betrayel by rebuilding the Wing Gundam).
2.41 is from ep. 13 "Catherine Tears" (Zechs is assigned to a small squadron assigned to destroy the Noventa Cannon and it's fortress.. where he discovers that this squadron has different ethics concearning war)
