  • i love this guys videos but if you watch them enough, he will sound like an asian doing a barrack obama impression. listen when he does says a long "uhhhhhh"

  • @needsmedic Deep thinking - is that bad?

  • thanks master to show us that we have a lot to learn

  • Thank you sensei for teaching me this.*bows* I learning alot. =)

  • I appreciate that what youre doing here and am really pleased to discover these movies. And for taking the time to reply to so many posts.

  • Great clip! hempev do you know or could you ask if Shihan Nishiuchi believes that teaching weapons to an adult first is ultimately more instructive ie later the empty hand techniques become more intuitive.

    Cheers.

  • Nothing becomes intuitive until years of repetition and correction. No technique is any better than any other - it's how you learn it and use it that counts.

  • This guy is GREATNESS. Love the way he talks, and despite his clear mastery and experience, there isn't a trace of pretense in his instruction, and you can see he still has a passion for kobudo. Great post, as all of yours are from Shihan Nishiuchi.

  • Fantastic post!

  • Thanks for uploading this video. It's very informative. I also took some notes.

  • I don't disagree with people who want to argue, I delete them.

  • Oss O-Sensei!

  • Great information. Do you have a web page for your school?. I'm very impressed by all the videos I watched from your Sensei.

  • The link is in the information to the right side, but it hasn't been updated in a while.

  • Very nice information. I really thought empty hand techniques have been invented before armed techniques. Also I didn't know about the real differences between japanese and okinawan Kobudo.

Thank you so much for sharing it :)

  • Glad it helped! Shihan actually teaches other kobudo teachers (is "senseis" an acceptable plural?), so he's well known to other martial artists. If I didn't get so worried about sharp blades and had Saturdays off, I'd take his iaido class, too!

  • great videos Hempev! keep it up, even though I do Kobudo, it teached me quite some things, thankyou

  • good information
