  • Is the image generated from vectors or a raster scan?

  • Oscilloscopes are fun when you have something to measure.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF - Measure something with an oscilloscope?!!? Don't be silly!

  • That's a real clock signal!

    (Bad pun, sorry)

  • Interesting hack, pretty cool actually. I still use my old 465 to this day & it works great for audio...

  • HA! seems clever at first, BUT THE TIME IS WRONG :D

  • it's correct

  • I WANT ONE!

  • hehe really nice.

but to be serious.. i wouldn't leave my scope turned on all day with that freakin' watch on the screen. and i wouldn't pay 35 bucks for it

    commerce -- halleluja O,o

  • demo

    its a @½&%ing demo

  • I think this is awesome!

  • Now that is just plain cool. I used to make some really weird patterns on an X&Y oscilloscope by just mixing more than one waveform on two function generators. Mesmerizing, really.

  • I used to mix X-video signal from bar generator and Y- from triangle generator , lool some nice patterns are the result , lool

  • nothing special how boring can they get?

  • they turned a sophisticated piece of lab equipment into a something that you can buy at walmart for $5. Cool, now off to those videos of paint drying.

  • Follow me I know were there's a video of paint drying !

  • @mickblock Watching paint dry, that is a military training movie. We need to know these things. Ever try to set a clock without training?

  • @mickblock you forgot to link it

  • The time machine! It remembers me to the film "Back to the future!"

  • are you blind? it HAS a tail

  • You know nothing.

  • :O But... how?!

  • REally cool, but I didn't see it respond visually to the audio. Cool stuff non the less

  • Nice ..

  • leave it on for a few days and you have some great burn in of that.

  • It moves around, to avoid burn =P

  • very nice!, but you can not use it like wall-clock or portable :)

  • Bah! It's far more portable than the "hp atomic wristwatch" (try searching google images for that).

  • lol

  • Amazing. A digital and analog scope.

  • cool

  • it isn't way off. the digital readout states it is 10:06:55 pm

  • perhaps diywaddy can't read time.

  • Sweet!

  • That is extremely cool, as is

    the classic Tektronix 475 scope.

  • uhh okay...around 40-50 second mark when the clock changes into square, then back to clock - the picture moves.. also arent scopes meant to track sideways..?

  • yes. typically the ray sweeps from left to right, but all scopes have an X-Y mode, in which you can control deflection of the ray both verticallz and horizontally.

  • Not all scopes, but quite a lot of them do.

  • Don't forget the z-axis, necessary for blanking. Otherwise all the objects would have a line connecting them.

  • Yeah, blanking is important, too. I don't think it can be called 'axis', though. It's just an input, like ext. triggering.

  • I think it goes it to demo mode or somthing. The thing a a bunch of modes, you can even have it run the wrong way.

  • The picture moves to avoid burn-in on the tube

  • @flvnow

  • VECTOR GRAFIX ROCK!!!!!!

  • An o-scope can display images faster than any tube Television ever could...this is real, I seem to remember a kit you can buy? Search 'Scope clock'...

  • television = powerful oscilloscope

What you see on a TV is like what you can see on an oscilloscope!!!

  • Yes, them beam that writes images to the screen can be moved around at least 10x faster than a normal set...

  • It's a sign of low intelligence to A) deny reality, B) open your mouth and show the world your IGNORANCE!

  • I clearly wasn't thinking when posting that. I blame alcohol, nicotine and my sink.

  • NEAT!!!!!!!!
