  • Anyone else think that when Yoda says "You will be....you WILL be..." 3:07 that he looks like a crazed meth addict xD

  • "never his mind on where he was hmm... what he was doin"

  • so powerful how luke is exposed for the angry kid that he is.

  • Good food, hm? Gooood, HMMM?

  • You will be..

  • LOL Yoda not far hahahahaha he is in the fucken cave XD

  • One person was not afraid... But they will be... They will be.....

  • 2:29

  • Obi Wan said "Was I any different when you taught me" But Quigon trained him.......i'm confused..

  • @Singerazboi100 dont worry...im confused too.(: i think the same thing happened to obi wan that happened to luke...his master might have died and yoda continued his training for him.....idk..ive never watched star wars up until the weekend before christmas 2011.(: haha.(:

  • @TheElmolover981 Yoda trained almost(possibly) all young jedi before they become padawans.

  • @Singerazboi100 Obi wan was trained as youngling(with other children) mainly by Yoda and then one day Qui gon noticed the boys skills and as Jedi knight he asked the coucil to have his first apprentice, coucil agreed and So obi wan became his apprentice.

  • @Singerazboi100 it was a mix, Yoda trianed Obi Wan in some ways, but Qui Gon took Obi Wan as his padawan (remember how Yoda trained a bunch of younglines in episode 2)

  • @Singerazboi100 Ignore the prequels.

  • for me, this is the 2nd most epic moment of the movie, after the Duel on Bespin

  • What does yoda say at 2:00 - 2:04???

  • @Crater7k "My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained."

  • @Crater7k the answer has already been said, but did you notice his mouth didnt move when he looked up at luke, but yet he was still talking.(: haha.(:

  • When Yoda said Luke was not ready he didn't mean to confront Vader and kill him that was never Luke's destiny. He knew Luke was not ready to bring Vader back to the light side of The Force and to redeem him.

  • Yoda didn't have to pay taxes.

  • Yoda will talk mad shit about you to make believe friends...right next to you.

  • ULTIMATE FAIL 1:52 AND YODA TROLLING HIM AFTERWARDS

  • "Eat, he he he, EAAAAT"

  • adventure, excitement; a jedi craves not these things. word to mallrats

  • Yoda was a damn fool in the prequels...completely useless. Wise he was not.

  • I get the sense that Yoda in the OT was a wise jedi master with a sense of humor. Yoda in the PT is all serious business.

  • watch this with subtitles on, you'll laugh your ass off xD

  • After watching the entire saga. After all these years I finally was able to realize. Isn't it ironic how Yoda states that Luke is reckless.? When he himself is also just as reckless. Such as the time when he went up against Darth Sidious.

  • @gaijin140

How is Yoda reckless? He faced Sidious alone because he was the only one left that is strong enough to oppose him.

  • @GrandGetsuga0 Because he could've died fighting Sidious. Just like when Luke could've died facing Vader the first time. Tell me that's not reckless too.

  • @gaijin140

Luke is reckless because he doesn't really stand a chance against Vader in his current state. Yoda at that moment is the only one who stands a chance against Sidious and the entire galaxy is on the line. There's a big difference.

  • @GrandGetsuga0 No, there is Another...

Who-WHO will watch The Watchers? (Genesis 6:4; Hebrews 13:2)

    OwlMan

  • @gaijin140 I guess your right then. Then Obi wans right about being reckless.

  • @gaijin140 that's thanks for George Lucas, because he doesn't understand Star Wars and what made the original trilogy amazing.

  • @chuggyman1

there are only 3 star wars films in my eyes the original films not the shit that was issued afterwords there totally abysmal i dont even own them and i am a major star wars fan .

  • 1 Star trek fan...

  • The cane-poking scene and facial expressions remind me of my grandpa

  • whose the one asshole who disliked this?

  • @hgamer The Dagobah Swamp Monster

  • Yoda trained Obi sometime bewteen episodes 3 and 4, as he says in the movies.

  • @Rhinogradentian that and if you believe in the expanded universe BS he trained Obi before quigon.

  • @Odor66 A carbon-based life-form would not be able to eat mynock, any more than a human can digest glass or sand, they are silicon based lifeforms...

  • it's fucked up how they left R2 in the rain

  • @locd2death that's caled racism.

  • @locd2death

that dusty old nigga needed a wash

  • @locd2death Yeah cus he feels cold....?...

  • @locd2death yell maybe R2 shouldn't have fought Yoda for the flashlight!

  • "Sigh....I cannot teach him..."

  • In the original movies and books yoda trained obwan but for some reason in the new movies they changed it

  • So did Qui Gonn or Yoda instruct Obi Wan? Or did Qui Gonn do it in the prequels and Yoda in the 2nd trilogy, from a certain point of view?

  • @Joobs0917 Both. Yoda theached him when Obi was a kid, (as you can see in Attack of The Clones, Yoda was who trained the kids) then he was trained by Qui Gon.

  • @hangar21 That makes sense, but while Obi Wan is pleading his case for Luke he makes it seem that he was around Luke's age when Yoda trained him. I guess it is a little confusing because in episodes IV-VI Obi Wan makes no reference of Qui Gonn and only refers to Yoda, but in episode I Qui Gon was clearly his master.

  • @Joobs0917 I agree, I think was better the original idea with Yoda as the only master of Obi Wan

  • @Joobs0917 well we're also talking about a dead guy (Qui Gon) who Luke would never meet, vs a still living being (Yoda) who Obi Wan would of probably introduced to Luke so Luke could get more training...

  • i love yodas crazy wacky voice in the originals. although when he is serious he talks with wisdom.

  • Rather... 1 lone-boy out of 181 has no patience.

  • 1 person was denied teaching by Yoda.

  • Um... Yoda doesn't speak in that backwards type of way in these movies. You know, in the prequals he says the beginning last, like, "Begun, the Clone Wars have." But in these older movies he just talks poetically, not backwards. Anyone feel me?

  • @trinity6diversia "powerful jedi was he" - hes was speaking backwards in this very clip

  • @trinity6diversia "away put your weapon"

  • @enterthemainfront Oh, I thought that was "Away WITH your weapon." Oh well, I guess the point has been made. Yoda DOES speak backwards in the old movies. :)

  • Will Luke stop screwing around and ever get to picking up those power converters?!

  • RAPE - 2:24 LOL

  • LUKE: i am ready ben i can be a jedi ben tell him ..*bangs head*

    YODA: ready are you?

  • That 1 dislike is too old to begin the training.

  • I always loved how Luke takes a taste of the food, cringes like it's gross and then takes like 2 more scoops.

  • this is life widsom. he talks about anakin in this...

  • I remember watching when it first came out in theatres. I was 57 years old, and it was just so magical when you found out that little green dude is Yoda and you hear Obi Ones voice saying "So was I when you taught me" as that smoothing music sets in in the back ground. So amazing, so magical, and it seemed like a mystery to me, such an amazing feeling. Then the prequels came out and ruined it.

  • @TheUnTrollAbleTroll Hahahahahahhahahahaha!!!!!!

  • It's funny....this scene by itself is more powerful and brilliant than anything found in the prequels. And there is NO CGI, no blue screen, and a PUPPET Yoda that is infinitely more convincing than computer animated one.

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best scenes EVER

  • People who like prequels, idiots they are xD

  • 1:16 = In frustration, Yoda starts talking normally...

  • George Lucas should have followed his first instinct and let someone else take over the prequels. The Empire Strike Back was the best of the films and he didn't direct it. That should tell you something about how good the newer films could have been.

  • Seriously? You liked the prequels?! I don't even know what I'm doing here! I'M WASTING MY TIME!

  • the first star wars trilogy was levels above the modern series as far as acting plot and creativity .george lucas was move creative in the deveopment of the characters and environments even without the technology. in the modern trilogy it seemed he did'nt push the avaiable technology to the limits as it stands Avatar sets the new standard in cgi tech. Lucas needs to stop resting on his past laurels

  • I can't say much the guy above with a lot of thumbs up just summed up the Yoda deal. Puppet Yoda: A piece of true act. CGI Yoda: Meh.

  • "Not far, Yoda not far. Hehe!"

  • HAHAHAHA My nickname is Yoda!!!

  • I cannot teach him. Land an X-wing, he cannot even.

  • @44centz omit the "even", you're doing it wrong. Yoda speak is basically the same system as Latin being translated into English.

  • @44centz * Teach him i cannot...

  • you just dont see scenes as good as this in any new films of today, never mind the prequels, every film never comes close to films like this.

I hate how in the modern day people claim films like avatar are a modern classic, when really its just a cgi acid fested version of pokahontis with fucked up blue people.

Amazing scene, amazing characters, amazing music, and a real set thats not retarded CGI.

scenes like this are why original star wars was so amazing.

  • the music makes this scene so amazing

  • @kellybob94 lmaoo

  • Egg sandwich. LOL

  • 2:33 Egg Sandwich?

  • What does Yoda say in 0:51?

  • @TheElrey94 good leaf and ifel, he was talking about ingredients in the soup hahaa

  • adventure excitement and jedi craves not these

  • what does yoda say at 1:18, it sounds like "I cannot take Jim"

    who's Jim?

  • @elcap22 he said i cannot teach him

  • The 1 person that disliked this wasnt ready

  • ever notice how some of yoda's expressions are kinda like mr. miagi from karate kid?

  • best scene in the whole 6 episodes. A real shame Lucas fucked it up, he should have understood what this scene meant

  • @croydonrudeness: Wow. Well put.

  • @croydonrudeness why do you say that? what was does it really mean?

  • hi sirs...it rains quite a bit on Dagobah from my observations...the lower strata has water vapor....there is much Flora so it has many plants....Yoda has a walking stick carved from wood...Yoda likes good food, his cave seems a hard material sirs....he is in exile from his hard days...25 years hence....

  • @Zepp900 Touchy!

  • And I hate it when arrogant people like yourself go around starting pointless arguments with others because their opinions just happen to differ from yours, ignorant to the fact that I myself don't care what you think. The prequels were made to tie the trilogies together and to entertain, and they do. Do I think they're superior to the original trilogy? No, but I enjoy them.

  • You're the one talking to me. I didn't ask or want to argue with you or anyone else on here. Did I say that the prequels held a candle to the original trilogy? No, all I sad was that I liked them, and you're throwing insults at me because we differ in opinions? It sounds like you're the one in need of a life, I'm not the one starting arguments and criticising others because of their opinions.

  • And for the record, I never started the argument that occured five months ago nor did I come on here to make a point, I merely told the person bothering me over a comment that I made about the similarities between Luke and his father to let people have their own opinions instead of starting online wars about it. I don't know why he bothered given that it was posted a year and a half ago, and you're responding to a comment that was written five months earlier this year? Talk about pointless.

  • You're the disgrace here, pal. I mean, cowering behind your keyboard and throwing insults at others, knowing that you can't be physically harmed in retaliation? Please, grow some balls or shut up. Better yet, just shut up. Online wannabe tough guys disgust me, and you're no exception. Now, I suggest that you cease trying to argue with me before this gets out of hand. Seriously, get lost if you're incapable of saying anything respectful.

  • Not trying to sound like anything. Just telling you to let people have their own opinions. I never insulted you or anybody else on this vid. You're the one trying to talk shit. Since you like to use the word "faggot" so much, perhaps you're a self hating faggot who doesn't admit to being a faggot in the first place. Maybe you're trying to show me what you think of faggots, what you think of yourself. Why you even bothered to bring up a subject that began and ended five months ago is beyond me.

  • Now, I have lost someone very close to me recently so if it's all the same, I'd rather you just drop it.

  • @matser08 You son of a fucking bitch. I bet u have sex with your mom. The only one that needs a life is you u queer fucking faggot. Now go fuck yourself pussy

  • @matser08 Ha where did you learn that joke? Leave me alone

  • @matser08 Now leave Zepp900 alone. And thank you bitch and have a nice day cock sucker

  • @matser08 Fuck you leave me alone

  • I LOVED Star Wars as a kid... Star Trek too, but always Star Wars first because I saw it at such a young age... THIS Yoda is why I loved it, and this Luke- just like Kirk, Spock, and McCoy MUST be Adventure, Logic, and Emotion and in constant conflict, the rest of the crew one great family, THIS... Yoda MUST be wise! The Skywalker protagonist MUST be someone we can relate to. Star Trek successfully made a new film- Star WArs, sadly, failed... but at least this old Yoda's forever with us.

  • Yodas little cave looks so cozzy:)

  • @teta809

When I get older and have a job I am making a life sized Yoda Hut. It's one of my life dreams.

  • @lenerene Lolnever give up your dreams

  • @teta809

No way, I've been studying the hut for years. I have to make it. I just have to work out where I should build it.. I need to buy property with some forest area, that way I can build it without being bothered. I put lots of thought into this.

    Make it, I will !

  • @lenerene Holy crapyour dedicated!lol-goodluck:)

  • i love the puppet yoda sooo much more than the CG yoda in the prequels. :D

  • Luke: "I'm not afraid."

Yoda: "You will be... you will be."

Wait... I thought Fear is the path to the dark side, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering right?? So why would Yoda encourage this.. Damn prequels.. I wish Lucas paid more attention to the people who made this movie.

  • @boatmanj4 you will at one time in life challenge your father....if he made 35k you must double him at 70k....if not you are considered a loser and the bitches will try to humiliate you....

  • @boatmanj4 Do you fear that you do not fully understand this scene? If so, how have you handled it? Did you become aggressive? Did you think over the matter objectively, or did you face your fears with anger towards Lucas and hate towards the prequels? Do you feel that you were patient? Tell me, did rushing to defeat the fear truly gain victory, or are you still seeking answers?

Perhaps you are reacting to your fears as Luke once did - impatiently and without a serious mind.

  • @boatmanj4 Luke is way older thatn the "ancient" Jedi students. There is already fear in him that he needs to confront. Fear is not the worst thing, hidden fear is much worse! There is no salvation in hiding what is there just to please or fit in! Honesty, will and strenght are needed for Luke to become a Jedi, but he will never be like the Jedi before!

  • @boatmanj4 Fear is the path to the dark side, also to the lightside .The difference between anikan and luke, was that anikan feared losing the ones he loved, Luke hasnt faced them yet.

Luke saying " I am not afraid" is showing the willingness and overconfidence in learning but he has not considered facing his fears.

Yoda saying, "you will be, you will be." meaning fear is something you have to go through before you become a jedi.

  • it would have been better if they did this entile seen in cgi..................not

  • You will be. :)

  • I removed my comment on Yoda the ascetic....when George is gone....maybe the saga of Luke should be carried on....his life, his aspirations after Vaders death.....and the Princess too because she carries Jedi bloodlines....where Mr. Lucas decrease perhaps someone else must increase, the story moves forward...food for thought....to a future writer....or does the story die with George Lucas....hmmm...

  • Yoda sounds like Kermit the frog...

  • @100chemosabe ....ha ha I was just thinking the exact same thing when I read this. less specifically, he sounds like a muppet!

  • @007frogprincess Frank Oz also voiced Miss Piggy.

  • Frank Oz is the voice of Yoda, who also did the voice of Fozz E. Bear on the Muppet Show

  • 1:01 Powerful Jedi was he.....powerful Jedi

  • yoda is my hero

  • Its so awesome at 1:25 when Yoda turns around and we see his face and he has a completely different expression. He just exudes wisdom when seconds ago he was a clown. Amazing acting, considering its a damn puppet. CG Yoda just isn't the same.

  • @62SG I agree. The puppet master that created Yoda said the same thing. Yoda CANNOT be digital. He has to look wise yet simple, instead of looking like an angry jumping frog.

  • @62SG It's pretty amazing how much emotion the muppet engineers could create in a character.

  • @62SG Completely agree

  • @62SG right

  • Amazing to see the difference of Luke here and at master Yodas death. So much more controled and focused! Definete progress!

  • he said 900 years in the next movie.

  • He has been alive for 900 years but he trained jedi for 800... He just laid back for the first 100 years I guess.

  • Yoda´s voice! HAHA!!!!!!!

  • Frank Oz.

  • lolz @ 3:03

  • Oops I meant "teach"

  • Haha when I first watched this scene and Yoda says "I cannot train him, the boy has no patience." I was like huh? Totally flabbergasted

  • @Zac674 When I first saw the scene as a child, I was thinking when is he going to take Luke to see Yoda? lol

  • Yoda's house looks like Shreks house.

  • @Zac674 i wish that i had not been too young the first time i watched these movies to remember it. envy you i do.

  • I love the episode of south park "4th grade" that parody's this scene. "I'm not afraid"... "You will be. You will Be". Nobody I knew understood what I was laughing at

  • @AMCsoldier:

I'm 34, and I still remember it clearly, because this movie was such a big deal to me.

The Yoda reveal was pretty good, but the other one? The theater gasped.

You don't get that anymore. We all know everything about movies before we see them. It sucks.

  • It's hard to see on this video but if you watch it on DVD it looks like there's a small tear below Yoda's left eye at 1:31 when he says "Much anger in him. Like his father." It was probably unintentional, like some fluid they put in the eye overflowed but it looks great!

  • I'm 27. I wish I were old enough to see this movie in theaters and experience the big Yoda reveal (and the other big reveal in this movie!). How amazing that must have been...

  • someone left my droid out in the rain...
