I see they are on a reunion tour, have they reformed for good or is this just a one off? Hopefully I can get to Freo to see them this Friday, last time I saw them was in 1994 just after Thunderhead came out.
Clouds are one the first live gigs I ever saw along with Ride supporting Ratcat. Lush, Hummingbirds, Falling Joys, Club Hoy all come to mind from that era.
Loved Trish and Jodi, also listened to Lush a lot (another 2 girls) . I have the Aquamarine EP , and yep, their cover of Wichita Lineman is surreal and sublime.
Do you have the Panel Van EP ashtabula? Off to have a look at the Cloud Factory vid!
Hi It's Ashtabula here. No sorry don't have that one. Must look for it too. Oz Music is a rich treasure trove is it not. The Clouds were unreal live and on record. Funny thing about the Aquamarine EP. It was recorded at Megaphon studio in St Peters. When I contacted them to ask about the producer, the engineer told me that the producers name on the EP was not a real person. The engineer recorded and mixed the tracks. I mention this because Aquamarine is such a superbly produced CD.
@ashtabulaghosts It was recorded by a fabulous gent named Damian Rasmussen(from San Fransisco). He toured as a live sound person with the Clouds in America, assisted by the great Jason Blackwell of Sydney and produced by the band... Mixed at the amazing Charring X studios on two lovely old analogue desks... : )
If you love this one you should try to get your hands on an ep called Aquamarine with a cover of Witchita Lineman. I saw the EP launch at the Annandale in 1996/ 97. Fantastic gig. They seemed to be every where in those days. Saw them support Crowded House in 93 I think... It all gets hazy now. Raphael! What a genius. The Girls are fantastic!!! cant remember the guitarists name on Futura album he was pretty wild too, That Album Futura was genius from go to woe. Love to hear from othe clouds fnas

Unfortunately they suffered the same problem as many other good musos, they were good, and therefore the average punter wasn't interested.
