That is deffinetly not Inuit throat singing! She thinks that she can recreate Inuit music. Her music is shitty! Listen to the real music, if you think this is good then you will think that other peoples music is 10 times better.
@Inumarik02 let me guess. you're inuk and you spend your day going around on youtube making fun of tanya tagaq. big surprise. it's too bad aboriginal people can't even support the few people that manage to make it to international fame. you don't have to love her music, but she's playing stages and representing being inuk and a contemporary artist and that takes a lot of hard work and talent whether you like it or not. either way, feel free to post a link to an inuk artist you actually like.
@Inumarik02 I saw her perform. The first half was much more modern, freakish, and improvised with a drummer and violinist (who employed a lot of effects to create different sounds). The second half was just her and a friend, first playing the game that you'll find in other youtube videos, and then performing one of the traditional songs. Tagaq may not stick the traditional narrative, but she does know what is. She isn't outwardly pretentious about what she does or how good she is either.
