  • You are doing more damage to your lawn by intentionally digging up the mole tunnels!! What the...??!! Doesn't take a brain surgeon to "real eyes" this!!

  • @Amayziah - You sir, have obviously never had moles in your yard. I would stick to brain surgery, if I were you. :-)

  • wouldnt your garden get messed up?

  • I wouldn't give a toss if the mole wanted to get an excavator and dig up ALL my garden, they were there first!!!

  • @roxcharlie - Roaches were here first too. I bet you don't like them in your house. Right or wrong, humans carve out their space and expel many other life forms from it. I just prefer moving moles to killing them. - Lou

  • @scragger1969 just want to add I don't condone the killing of animals- but why catch the mole if you're going to make the lawn look worse- fact is the moles will eventually return - get a patio or some decking is my advice

  • @scragger1969 - I only get one or two moles in the Spring and I pull them right away. The rest of the year is usually mole free. Not catching the mole will make your yard look much worse. They can move 20 feet in a day. A half-acre deck is not an option.

  • ok so you totlay tore your yard up and this was becasue of one of those little mounds? well that was nice not to kill the mole!

  • @bryncomeaux - You sir, have obviously never had moles. They don't produce just "one little mound". Moles dig tunnels all the way across you yard, multiple times. Its a mess. Trust me, if you want a lawn, you don't want moles.

  • i dont really like lawns all the land and gasolene and watewr and chemicals it was yet another of those things the king once had that were all supposed to want. i can here the devil now " give me your planet and i will make you all kings" so much of our western lifesttyle is to emulate royalty with an alternate yard plan the mole really doesnt matter.

  • @bryncomeaux - This is actually a good point. A little funny, coming from a person using a high-tech computer and the internet to watch videos, but yes. Why do we all need lawns, anyway? They seem to be pretty popular.

  • thats a lot of effort.. i think u scared the shit out him though

  • aww so cute lol

  • awesome vid!

  • thanks man! just caught three moles! you are a LIFE saver <3 :) mole killers for life dude <3

  • Fantastic video.

  • NICE!

  • Great job. I am going to use some of your tips now. Glad I'm off all day. I'll see if I can get him. how long should I leave him be after disturbing him and him getting away. (I tried to catch him w/ a shovel but he must not have been in the clump of dirt I took out and got away through the ground before I realized he wasn't there)

  • @gotjellocjrb - If you miss them, they seem to be back in 15 to 30 minutes. You are best to use a phone or baby monitor, so you can do other things inside the house while you wait. -Lou

  • @LouTube222 - the little boogers are a pain in the butt. I am going to check out some garage sales/yard sales to see if I can find an old set of baby monitors. Any advise if they are directly on the side of a side walk and..... then turn and go up the side of the driveway? I think he likes the 'shelter' so to speak.

  • @gotjellocjrb - I have seen them go along driveways and sidewalks. It is not shelter. It is a barrier. They can't or choose not to dig under those big slabs of rock. Your mole will be fairly easy to catch, because you already have him somewhat boxed in. If he does go under, keep a jack-hammer ready : ) I often see 2-phone starter sets in stores. They are perfect, since they can monitor each other, both sides are battery, not plug-in, and they are often cheaper than baby monitors.

  • and it would be funny if an tunnel went to your bathroom

  • you look like constiant sorrow

  • This totally works! Thank you so much for sharing this video. I ripped up all the tunnels I could find in my yard, then packed back down the dirt, placed a phone monitor at a crossroad tunnel point, and caught the mole within an hour. I really didn't have a lot of faith that this method would work; man was I proven wrong. Thanks Lou!

  • Good man for not kiiling em!

  • Nice catch sort of like fishing haha

  • You can try to use propane to blow him out without killing it maybe....

  • hahaha this is kinda' fun cause I'm seeing this video and I dont even have a backyard... lol

  • Did that mole squeal at you when you picked it up? That would probably scare me at first, but they really do seem defenseless haha.

  • RangerMcFriendlie - They seem to have different personalities. Most moles are pretty quiet when you catch them. Occasionally, one will squeal once or twice, right when you catch him, out of surprise. After that they are totally quiet. Also, they don't ever try to bite you or attack you in any way. They just scramble to try to get away. It's sort of like holding a guinea pig that would rather not be held. I have a five gallon bucket with a few inches of dirt ready to put them in.

  • Nice mate :D

  • Thanks it really helped i caught a mole yesterday it was huge the stick teqnique really worked i just dug it out when it smacked the stick i subed

  • i have a mole and i am trying to catch him but i don't want to rip up my yard could you recomend another way to catch the mole without killing him. p.s. ican't seem to find where his home is in the tunnels.

  • Mr Aligator - Just stomp down his path and put a baby monitor or phone out there to listen for him to push it back up. When you hear him, tiptoe out there and make sure you can see him moving and pushing up ground. Sneak up behind him and quickly stick the shovel in behind him and pop him out. Go quietly or he will hear you coming and run away. Good luck. -Lou

  • Great way to catch moles and to keep them alive, thank you sir!

But I think digging ditches in your garden kind of defeats the reason of why you want to get rid of them...

Still, it looks like fun :)

  • i heard that if you have mulch youll never be abe to keep moles away because the mulch prvides shelter for them so sorry dude but unless you want to keep having that mole problem you have to ditch the mulch....

  • can u sale the mole that u catch??? i really want one :)

  • Sorry, Dreamer3312. I don't have any moles this season. Also, you can't keep moles as pets. They need an entire acre of land to live. I think they are really cool too, but you just can't keep them captive or they die.

  • @LouTube222 Why?! D':

  • why dont you try Mole Fishing?

  • You sir, have turned mole hunting into a military like tactical procedure. 5 stars!

  • That was really clever! But, hey your living the great american dream hu? Liveing in the forest? How did you pull that off? Do you work from home what? you have what I want. By the way where did you get the water pressure from?

  • wow, nice technique. But what area do you live in, to have that many moles digging up your yard?

  • If you learn the technique, catching and relocating a mole is easy, humane, and fun.

  • @LouTube222 The technique is simple, I will be using it. Last year I only caught 11 moles but 4 years ago i caught 17 moles in one season. I have tons of them, but I've heard moles do not reproduce quickly so I guess I must have knocked their numbers down and it took a few years to come back. I will try your technique and see if I can't get a little closer to their home.

    Thanks

  • Thank you for that comment. Moles are just trying to live. They don't realize they are tearing up your yard. If you learn the tecniqu

  • i used to see the damage from moles and i wanted to find a way to kill them at first. then one day my cat dug one up that was very small and scared. (my cat is friendly, she doesnt kill anything but she is very curious) i saw how cute they are and just could not harm the little guy. i scooped him up and carried him off to a ditch where the dirt was softer and he quickly dug a hole a dissapeared.

  • This is great. Nicely done. One thought on my part, who's ruining the lawn more, you or him? haha.

    Thanks for sharing this vid.

  • Always nice to see humane pest control.

  • cools

  • good enough idea but wi all that space -U really need to do this>?

  • VonLeachim - If you are watching this video, it is assumed that you want to capture moles and remove them from your yard. I think moles are amazing animals, and that is one reason I don't want to kill them, but I don't want them tearing up my lawn. -Lou

  • Whoa you mean a solution that doesn't involve gas and a light, OR a shotgun? Whoa.

  • Thank you for showing us i hate killing things i have caught about 5 thank you :) i have mole problems to and this was helpful.

  • Petro, You will have to wait for my next video on how to catch a hawk without killing it. :). Loi

  • Great video. Thanks. Some of them go down 3 feet and cross to road. But I do feed them to my hawk that lives up in our tree for the last 5 years. OH well. Maybe that's why it keeps coming back each year?

  • thank, ill try it next spring

  • Thnx.... Nice vid
