  • The person who Feng is using to demonstrate is Master Wang Feng Meng.He teaches in NYC,and NJ.He is one of Master Fengs top disciples.

  • He is one of the best yes, i had the pleasure of meeting him in Beijing together with Master Jennifer Lee, we spent a great day together and we were invited to his class and see some of his great great abilities. I remember one foreign student saying:" When you doing serious Pushhands with him and you touch his chest, its like putting your hand into a gearbox."

  • His push hands is very fluid and circular it reminds me more of yang style push hands. Had I not known he was a preeminent Chen master I would have guessed him to be doing Yang style. His fajing appears to involve more of a weight transfer from the back leg then it does the classic spiral waist rotation of the Chen style. This is especially apparent in the first fajing in the video of him doing a shoulder stroke.

  • this is amazing and rare footage of taijiquan master giving an incredible demonstration of very controlled and powerful fajin and neutralization in push hands.

  • there has been a very good vid of feng zhi qiang on the ba fa of taijiquan. it is gone. does anybody know why, or where to get it?

  • Sorry, but who is Feng Zhi Qiang ?

  • Chen Style Taichi great master

  • he is china's leading taiji representative. He is my grand-master XD, but I just stick with the hunyan qigong, playing wing chun aswell.

  • 冯志强,or 馮志强

  • @bigfatdick5000 HAHAHAHA!! That made my day! Thanx mate!

  • @bigfatdick5000 I believe he is the founder of hunyan Chen

  • one of the best!

  • I like his style of working with his students. No ego. He works with the guy and doesn't bust him up and bend the elbow right back like I've seen in other videos. It makes the pushing hands interesting and fun, and that's how you learn to relax.

  • Feng Zhiqiang is a real master

  • As I thought, chin, you have no evidence to back up your claims. You dodged all questions and showed you know nothing of what you are talking about and I will not go down to your pre-school name calling level. ANY MORE TROLLING BY YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY IGNORED!

  • Hahaha. You are so pathetic. Neijiachuan is right, you are not worth it. I will also ignore your trolling.

To the owner of this video, I suggest you disable comments. That way we can enjoy Master Feng's performance without pathetic trolls.

  • Just ignore them.

  • Spoken like a true retarded keyboard warrior. Lets see you try it. Let us know how it felt to have this old man kick your ass all over!

  • Do you have any evidence to support your claims or that you even know what you are taking about? Talk is cheap.

  • did u see 06.27....wow...that guy flew out....just like earlier during the start of the video... cool

  • Prove It! Put up or Shut Up!

  • Spoken by another true keyboard warrior. This "old man" has never been defeated in real fights. Trust me you will not be the first. People like you have already tried and have gotten thrown hard on the ground. As Neijiachuan said "put up or shut up!

  • And by the way, chin20000, Any further trolling and ignorant comments by you will be completely ignored! When you come back with proof of you defeating Master Feng, then I will even consider answering any more of your little messages!

  • don't you see how your ignorance slides off a master like your feeble attacks would? exposing your stupidity by referring to this skill as trash telegraphs your lack of understanding in general. No one even needs to defend against you, you would start a fight by punching yourself in the mouth.

  • very good

  • you can see he is emitting his jing in a controlled manner very solid stance I always say to people that I teach build up a strong root through correct practice of tai chi and you'll be amazed at what you can do I asked my teacher what the secret was and was basically told in halting english there was none just dilligent practice

  • amazing!! just amazing!!!

  • Right on, Mantisdude. I agree 100& with what you said. Nomind101, I study with Laoshi Humberto Pomales who is a disciple of Master Chen Zhonghua. Master Chen is a disciple of Master Feng. I have had the experience of feeling Laoshi Pomale´s and master Chen´s power.

  • Comments, comments, comments.....sigh. go push hands whit him insted of pissing in the wind on youtube!

  • Until you have valid arguments, that is all I have to say to you or any other troll. Any further trolling by you or anyone will be totally ignored.

  • I know he is highly skilled, but it still makes me uncomfortable to see this kind of staged demonstration. But then again, how else do you demo it?

And yes he is clearly a bit fat. Probably gets asked out to dinner too much by his students.

  • I used to say the same thing until my teacher, a practioner under master Feng's Hunyuan Taijiquan system, made me eat my words and the floor. Years later I experienced Master Chen Zhonghua's power first hand, who is my teacher's teacher and a disciple of Master Feng. I don't tell you to believe that these taijiquan demos are real, I suggest you come to one of our seminars and experience it for yourself. Feeling is believing.

  • i'm a skeptic of a lot of martial arts, as i don't seem them applied in practical realistic scenarios (perish the thought).

  • As I replied to someone else, you would need to experience this for yourself in getting thrown by a highly skilled Taijiquan practitioner while you are giving them their best in order to see that this is for real. As Master Chen Zhonghua says, fake fighting is easy to make it appear real and real fighting can appear fake, especially when you don't understand internal art's body mechanics (all based on physics, not "magic").

  • I meant to say giving them your best.

  • Who is your teacher? I just started studying with Li Lairen, who is also a student of Feng Zhiqiang. (Or are you studying with Li Lairen too? If so, I'll see you in class! ;) ) My previous teacher did a few bewildering things to me in "demos", but I have yet to experience any "real" contact in IMA, as in, I'm REALLY TRYING to stay on my feet/put him on his ass... I love studying, but the effectiveness remains unproven to me. We'll see.

  • Recently, I came back form a 1 month trip to China and had the chance to meet Master Feng Zhiqiang in Beijing. Trust me, he is even more powerful in person than what this video shows. I felt his power! This is real martial arts!

  • Maybe I'll just try to punch my teacher in the face... LOL!!!

  • Hey NOMIND101,

Well, how did it go with your teacher? LOL! How´s training going? I did check out Li Lairen´s web page and see that he includes sparring in his curriculum. Have you actually had the chance of attending those sparring sessions yourself? How are those sessions structured? Do you have a chance to actually apply and feel taijiquan figting principles applied? Just curious.

  • I'm not at the sparring level yet, (with Taiji, that is) but I have been getting together with some people outside class and doing some rough-housing. Training is going crappy right now. I've made some blunder and screwed up my knees pretty bad. Combination of trying to twist too much with a tense kua, and being all tense and out-of-whack from working construction.

  • I dont know who you are referring to specifically with your comment, but just decided Id point out a chen style taijiquan stylists perspective on Power. My recommendation would be to check out Master Chen Zhonghua´s video here in youtube titled "Power Out in Circles". He explains how we produce power in Chen style Taijiquan from a de-mystified perspective involving body movement and angles. Master Chen studied both under the late GM Hong Junsheng and currently under GM Feng Zhiqiang.

  • By the way, FamilyQuan, I also recommend to you checking out another of Master Chen Zhonghua´s videos here in youtube titled "How to Match Your Opponent's Power". I´m open to any friendly discussion on the matter. Take care and best of wishes to you in your training of your chosen martial art style.

  • @neijiachuan master feng is awesome i have met him on a visit to beijing with master fei bing a past student of his was very impressed with his speed when i tried to push him

  • Fat? This guy's not fat, and I don't believe that iron shirt or chi has anything to do with it as I have seen plenty of thin internal practioners. No, the reason why he isn't trim and slim is because he's obviously middle aged. I wouldn't say he's fat though.

  • coooool

  • it is not fat, it is the result of Qigong and Iron Shirt/Zhan Zhuang training, the body is filled with Qi

  • Feng is not fat. Chen Zhenglei is not fat. Chen Fake is not fat. Yang Chengfu is definitely FAT.

  • Yang Chengfu eat a lot, that is why he was fat..Chi accumilate in the Tan Tien but should be condensed in the bone marrow

  • very nice, but wheres the sound man wheres the sound?

can anyone offer an explanation on why all decent chen practitioners look fat? I know its not fat, but chen style definetely produces a certain body type n Im not sure exactly why

  • Chen Xiaoxing,Chen Xiaowang and Ren Guang Yi aren't fat. but I hear ya :)

    Nice video

  • Fat is the only way I candescribe it, though I know its not overweightness. Its that they have a certain "roundness" to them. My coach is the same, when I first started trainin wid him I could see him "get bigger" this torso, particularly around his belly, would expand like he was filling up wid water, cant explain or describe it better! just seeing if anyone ont there could explain it.

  • Theoretically, it's the amount of qi in his body, especially his dantian, which is of course located near the belly. It's probably more to do with an increased awareness of that region of the body, the sinking of weight to the lower regions, the increased use of the waist as a power generator and store, and things like that. Best not to get too caught up in the qi.

  • Feng is a true master...I saw him uproot people with magnetic Qi power!! (w/o hands...real sh_t!! - plus carefully look at his body roundness..it is not in the waist area, but actually closer to his mid dantian, not lower dantian.

  • You are absolutely right, your ignorant comments are pure nonsense.

  • As a practicioner of Master Feng´s Hun Yuan Tai CHi Chuan forms, I feel very interested in this and others videos. How can I get them?

  • nice to see clips of Master Feng in his heydays

  • could you tell me where to get the whole tape? Thank you
