  • This is where rap came from. we had a blast back then

  • these times suck to be alive , hopefully i will be able to live the experience if i am fortunate in the next life

  • @JURYJOHMZOMBIE get a band together, or produce one, and make the good times happen.

  • @TheRealCritique amen , good advice

  • Feel sorry for all you that didn't grow up in the 70's. Truly an amazing experience!

  • He looks like Jim Carrey doing a K.C. and the Sunshine Band parody...

  • He's kinda creepy looking...good tune though.

  • Is it just me, or does KC look a bit like Jim Carrey? Actually, like a cross between Ashton Kutcher and Jim Carrey! Love this band!

  • Is it just me, or does KC look a bit like Jim Carrey? Love this band!

  • @blkgryphon i guess i can see that. but if they ever did a movie, aston kutcher would be good for the part.

  • KC is high as HELL!! If anybody notices, the tempo is increased by a full measure!! They are playing it much, much faster than the original! Not to mention that KC's eyes keep bugging out every so often!

  • @jimmietrimble I was thinking it seemed faster. And yes he is obviously Zingin...lol

  • Was that Lamont Sanford on percussion!?

  • KILLER BAND WOW !

  • sweet powder cocaine

  • They need to make a movie about KC and the Sunshine Band...and James Franco needs to play KC.

  • I love how they use this song in Forest Gump in the disco scene.

  • far left...Pimpy McQuilty on horn....I'm lovin it.

  • I'm totally missing the cowbell.

  • look at the moves from the horn section! Get Down Tonight!

  • Remember the time they played it live, with all the flaws , still sounds better than a lot of technically enhanced bs we hear everyday. KC is the man!

  • Casey & Finch the coolest white dudes leading this all black band!

  • @tomthefunky if by recently, you mean 10 years ago

  • OK, not that I'm a big fan or anything, but I HATE it when people post stuff that's absolutely not true. KC (the lead singer) has never been arrested for child molestation. The guy that was arrested was a bass player or something, and reportedly hasn't been associated with the group for 30 years. Please, please-- do some research rather than jumping to conclusions and posting the first thing that you think you hear.

  • @jml1163 maybe they're get KC mixed up with Gary Glitter.

  • @jml1163 you are right, it was the bass player, richard finch. i hate though, he was my favorite band member. i am a big fan btw.

  • i was in the air force in 1974 when this song came out...NORTON AIR FORCE BASE..

  • Such a great song......Thanks youtube for those finds like this one worth listening....

"Give you my soul" by Mo'Sean

  • So many people today think disco sucked, but really without disco from the 70's there would be no gaga, no backstreet, no rap or hip hop, nothing! I am glad I grew up in the 70's and got to experience this music. Still have my KC and other artists 45's. 70's music was the best...can't help but to shake the grove thing whenever I hear it!

  • Ashton Kutcher definitely borrowed the lead singers vibe to play his character on that 70's show..

  • GREAT! GREAT BAND !!!!FOR EVER

  • one of my very first concerts that I ever saw was KC & the Sunshine Band at Ontario Place in Ontario, Canada back in 1974. It was the largest attendance ever at Ontario Place for the day and still a record to this day. The island actually sank a couple of inches and they actually had to close it down. People were diving into Lake Ontario trying to swim over to catch a glimpse. It was ridiculous....lol. but I still have great memories of that show 26 years later.

  • damn KC always reminds me of Jim Carrey xD

  • @TazCalloway Funny, I was just thinking he looks like Ashton Kucher.

  • @Oranaiche i agree if they ever made a movie about him ashton should play the role lol

  • @hork111

    dude that's a hit!

  • Some of the best times ever, Love it Love it Luuuuuuuuuuuuuv iiittttt !!!

  • Harry was quite handsome back then.

  • KC and Dan Hartman can boogie any party as good or even better than any band of their time.

Iconic and timeless music that stands the test of time and will forever mark an era of great people, great time, phenomenal music and don't forget the lovely ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • here y'go

  • Who wants to? Great video

  • boggy ,hot Florida nites and in the sand, awesome

  • This brings back childhood memories of wearing polyester.

  • Whenever I go to school dances or mixers I always wished they played this kind of music instead of rap because you can actually dance to this stuff!! I love dancing to this song :D

  • @Queenlover1114

It was a great era with beautiful music. So many new talents such amazing artists and the music was absolutely fantastic. Discos everywhere, Danskin dresses and white suits, lots of dancing, and real flirting.

  • @Queenlover1114 u can dance to rap to..... or R&b or Hip-Hop so wat do u mean??

  • @superwomen405 This kind of music has groove in it! It's got funk and soul and people playing instruments; rap is just people saying words to a beat. R&B can be good to dance to, but this music just has the right amount of funk in it to get you moving.

  • @Queenlover1114 amen

  • @Queenlover1114 So why bother with rap? I'm old school and proud of it. I don't listen to rap OR hip hop because to me it's all the same. KC and the sunshine band, War, kool and the gang, etc...THAT'S music!

  • one bad ass funk bass line...!

  • @dsrocknroller too bad he's a child molester.

  • yeah, I saw that news story...doesn't look good...

  • @tavolo22 He is??? I never heard that...wow..

  • @tavolo22 The one who was recently arrested is the bass player Richard Finch. KC or Harry Wayne Casey is the lead singer. Finch & Casey formed the band.

  • they're kicking ass! haha his eyes get all huge at 0:20

  • Music can be all about just having fun and groovin.

  • without question these guys were the most talented musicians plying the disco beat. no one else could hold a candle to them, seriously. it's not even close.yadda yaddayadda they rocked lol

  • K.C. could sing his ass off! Terrific musician.

  • Dude this audio blows! WTF? You can hardly hear it!

  • then turn it up u ignoramus!!!!

  • Happy birthday richard finch

  • even without costumes and the girls' backing vocals these guys were cookin'!

  • i wonder why so many rock people feel that disco era music had "non" players. Uhm... looks to me like everyone on that stage is playing there asses off.

    Love KC!

  • I know they were from the Disco era, but I consider them more Funk than Disco...

  • @nashtndawg Right. That bassline is pure raw funk. I don't know how they got tagged as disco, though it probably helped them more than a funk tag would have.

  • @kodeejames i give you credit because everyone in this band is playing an instrument which you cannot say with present music in this day of age..however, listen to the lyrics, what do they mean? nothing. they are speaking about having a good time yeah but truely mean nothing. rock n roll not only played real instruments but spoke about meaninful things, not about getting down tonight

  • Damn right K.C. & the band baby !!!

  • this is an R&B classic, there's so much awesome in this song it can't be put into words.

  • Love this jam....so fun :P

  • Did he ever performed on Soul Train?.

  • Quaaludes= methaqualone. Excellent downer, made one feel drunk without drinking. Excellent recreational drug-responsible for many a lost cherry. Outlawed in the 80's. Still manufactured overseas. Ludes were awesome.

  • he is cutieeeeeeeee

  • MORE COWBELL !!!

  • @deathtoall4444 The fact that it has a lot of cowbell in it or the fact that it needs more? Still quite unusual in music fir it to be the prominent.

  • @deathtoall4444 *Will Farrow Is Funny As Hell*LMAO*

  • This was the day when all music categories were DONE right, musicians developed and used their talents to the fullest.. There's only few musicians today in their youths developing their talents. I blame it on gangsta rap and our fraudulent educational system that was taken over by the communist left wing liberals. FREE YOUR MIND, use your GOD given talent by smoking weed and taking quay ludes, I think those were the recreational drug of the day, what do I know,I was only a TEENAGER in the 70's?

  • what are quay ludes?

  • Quay Lude? = A fictional singer played by Fee Waybill of the Tubes while performing White Punks on Dope?

  • QUA,ALUDES,,PILLS DRUG

  • groovy man groovy!

  • where do i get clothes like that. i'd be big pimping in that get up..

  • this is awesome......more cowbell!!!!!

  • zajebisty kawałek a zawsze myślałem że to murzymn spiewa xD

  • He was so cute!

  • playing a trombone is hard enuff, but dancing with one is waaay cool.

  • Great , Midnight Special, were is the 70 version of "shake, shake your booty"?

  • Agree, what's happened to ,I'm your boogie man' too

  • LOL...they are so coked up its funny....great preformance though!

  • Best performance of "Get Down" on UT. Some might think this is silly, but there was so much energy in the seventies.

  • Very True... No computers or cell phones back then...Or XBOX ETC...People went out and did stuff...

  • I wish more blacks would play instruments these days instead of rapping. What style!!

  • THE GHETTO BLACKS rap, the educated ones develop their talents and normally plays jazz or blues. The same for other ethnic groups who have musical talent. GANGSTER RAP POISONED THE MINDS OF THE YOUTHS. That's not music, any idiot can smash trash cans and YELL. No talent is required for that GARBAGE called GANGSTA RAP. It's all MARKETING. The people behind the marketing are the ones with talent. Gangsta rap is for convicts and street gangs who should be deported to china for human spare parts

  • that's racist dude.

  • Best dance song ever!

  • Fantastic. Thank YOU!!!

  • This song is indeed my favorite as well, but I can't help but wonder why so few vids of KC and the Crew don't even come close to this sound? Thanx for postin'.

  • many thanks for posting this, it's the first time time I see my favorite song of KC & Sunshine Band played live, it's even better than the studio version.
