LoL when i was 8 or 9, my folks used to leave me with my brother and his wife..i can recall sitting and watching the midnight special with him, her and her brother..
@koolinturn .....KC was the Blackest White-Dude of the Times. Including the Cat from Wild Cherry. Everyone thought all these Cats where White until the TV appearances or Album Covers. LOL
KC is high as HELL!! If anybody notices, the tempo is increased by a full measure!! They are playing it much, much faster than the original! Not to mention that KC's eyes keep bugging out every so often!
Remember the time they played it live, with all the flaws , still sounds better than a lot of technically enhanced bs we hear everyday. KC is the man!

DISCO BABY!!! I LOVE IT do a little dance make a little love get down to night THOSE WORDS DEFINE THE 70'S OH AN DO A LINE LOL LOVE THE 70'S EVEN THOUGH I was born on 1980:)
I went to a wedding over the weekend where the DJ played tons of Kc & the Sunshine Band. Never in my life have I've seen so many people, of all ages, getting down on the dance floor!
OK, not that I'm a big fan or anything, but I HATE it when people post stuff that's absolutely not true. KC (the lead singer) has never been arrested for child molestation. The guy that was arrested was a bass player or something, and reportedly hasn't been associated with the group for 30 years. Please, please-- do some research rather than jumping to conclusions and posting the first thing that you think you hear.
So many people today think disco sucked, but really without disco from the 70's there would be no gaga, no backstreet, no rap or hip hop, nothing! I am glad I grew up in the 70's and got to experience this music. Still have my KC and other artists 45's. 70's music was the best...can't help but to shake the grove thing whenever I hear it!
one of my very first concerts that I ever saw was KC & the Sunshine Band at Ontario Place in Ontario, Canada back in 1974. It was the largest attendance ever at Ontario Place for the day and still a record to this day. The island actually sank a couple of inches and they actually had to close it down. People were diving into Lake Ontario trying to swim over to catch a glimpse. It was ridiculous....lol. but I still have great memories of that show 26 years later.
KC and Dan Hartman can boogie any party as good or even better than any band of their time.
Iconic and timeless music that stands the test of time and will forever mark an era of great people, great time, phenomenal music and don't forget the lovely ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whenever I go to school dances or mixers I always wished they played this kind of music instead of rap because you can actually dance to this stuff!! I love dancing to this song :D
It was a great era with beautiful music. So many new talents such amazing artists and the music was absolutely fantastic. Discos everywhere, Danskin dresses and white suits, lots of dancing, and real flirting.
@superwomen405 This kind of music has groove in it! It's got funk and soul and people playing instruments; rap is just people saying words to a beat. R&B can be good to dance to, but this music just has the right amount of funk in it to get you moving.
@Queenlover1114 So why bother with rap? I'm old school and proud of it. I don't listen to rap OR hip hop because to me it's all the same. KC and the sunshine band, War, kool and the gang, etc...THAT'S music!
@tavolo22 The one who was recently arrested is the bass player Richard Finch. KC or Harry Wayne Casey is the lead singer. Finch & Casey formed the band.

this is the beginning of terrible music being played all across America..before kc and the gay band there was music that meant something, disco ruined everything. i am 22 and the music that is played on the radio currently is influenced from bands like this. thank you for ruining music.
without question these guys were the most talented musicians plying the disco beat. no one else could hold a candle to them, seriously. it's not even close.yadda yaddayadda they rocked lol
i wonder why so many rock people feel that disco era music had "non" players. Uhm... looks to me like everyone on that stage is playing there asses off.
@nashtndawg Right. That bassline is pure raw funk. I don't know how they got tagged as disco, though it probably helped them more than a funk tag would have.
@kodeejames i give you credit because everyone in this band is playing an instrument which you cannot say with present music in this day of age..however, listen to the lyrics, what do they mean? nothing. they are speaking about having a good time yeah but truely mean nothing. rock n roll not only played real instruments but spoke about meaninful things, not about getting down tonight
