get which ever one you like more. i would prefer serato. that ns7 i all one piece. if something breaks.... you are out a whole unit. if one of your turntables goes bad or something you can just get another one or mix using seratos instant doubles for one deckmixing. ust comes down to personal prefference
made the switch from traktor to serato.... wont go back. ttm57sl is the shit. cant go wrong. i feel more like a dj compared to when i was on traktor. i relied to much on the program. ehh it has nice effects and all but traktor was mainly mea to be a midi controlled software
your turtables \ cd players are pluged in the serato interface. They play the timecode to the software and from the interface you get the output of the software from each turntable \ player from cinch jacks.
let me ask you this. i know back in the day when a dj was going to do a guest spot all he needed to take was his records to the radio station or club. so now that dejaying is all digital what do you take to do a guest spot. your laptop? and your time coded vinyl?
Great video! question.. is there any bpm matching options? i see that the bpm of each channel pops up while spinning.. is their a tempo match option like on virtual dj?
Hi, how can i erase tracks and folders from my library? i select the track or folder and push delet but it does not delet the track or folder, the library its not protected, can you help me?
Have you made any videos on how to hook up the ttm57sl to cd players from start to finish and use ssl in conjunction? I have a pair of Numark CDXs. I am new to digital mixing.Let me know if you can help or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks God bless!!!
The other vids were helpful, but i already knew the stuff! I knew serato was capable of that loop function, but i couldnt get it working! That video was 100% what i was looking for, thanks to you and the other dj demonstrating!
Also, if you look at the video THIS video is a responce to, it'll tell you how to download the program for free and get everything organized so when you do buy the interface, you'll be all set to go!
Bri-- If I did use Serato- Would I need to buy new needles?(digitrack I believe it's called) would normal Ortofon Concorde's sound good with this setup? Thanks
Well, Rane SSL is the industry standard. As you know, Rane is great stuff. I haven't messed with Final Scratch because everyone I know uses SSL. Every club I've seen in the last few years is using SSL. It's a very solid program that has free updates. The hardware is very solid. I'd say SSL is the safest bet for someone who wants to go time coded vinyl.
ey bruh, props 2 makin these videos nd to matzestyle, so wut if its boring, its a tutorial, school is boring as fuck but u still gotta c thru it 2 learn wut 2 do
Yeah it's not always "Fun" to learn some of these things. However, the end result with some well retained knowledge is you GET to finally have fun with your stuff :)
Do I DJ Tutor.. well I try to. Have a look at some of my vids. I try to share what info I have along with several other DJs here on Youtube. You can also check out djtutor dot com
It's the same concept, but SSL seems to have become the industry standard. I haven't personally messed with any of the other virtual vinyl interfaces out there.
I LOVE the vinyl ripping but damn, you got to manually edit all the tags. And there are like 800-900 vinyls. I guess just rip 5-10 a day at a time...Doh!
WOOOOW! Awesome video Brian! But next time you get to talk with someone from the radio you should ask them about being on the radio, How they got their what they think, You know things like that? I only ask because radio is where i wont to be, Nice! ;-)

We'll be doing Videos with Rock D in the future. It was such a crazy day we didn't have time to talk about his projects in detail. Johnathan was on the radio for several years. You should ask him radio questions.
I bought M-Audios "Torq" which does the same as seratos scratch live, and I'll also break it down in videos for ya all out there, because when I looked out for good demo videos and description of possiblities I felt like there nearly is nothing like that at all. Not for Torq and not for Scratch Live. No one breaks it really down noobystyle ;) oh, got an idea...I'll contact you ;)
I got an email from a local Audio Shop that a few DJS and a rep. from Serato would be in town to do a demo. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go. Oh well...I know about most of the topics they were going to cover.
Yeah, that's the concept. If you do a search for this product on youtube you will find many introduction videos. Look at "Thehappyviking". He's got a series
The vinyl is all "Time Coded", meaning that the grooves hold digital sounds representing ones and zeros. As the record plays the software reads these strange sounds and translates them to a point of time. Then the mp3/digital media plays at whatever point of time thats being played on the time coded vinyl. If that makes any sense...

SERATO IS OVERRATED.
Serato? Yea.. traktor can beat that stuff any day. Their timecode is tighter then serato and their soundcard is better then serato..
Yup, I'm gunna talk about virtual DJ. Virtual Dj was mixing video and had a sampler LONG BEFORE SERATO. Serato is just behind on alot of shit.
Traktor FTW.

Serato works with all mixers
