  • R.I.P. DJ Rock DEE.

  • R.I.P Rock D. I remember back in 1995 or 96 I seen Dj nu styles and rock d battle man it was great. How time flies.

  • Hey great video! Big ups briansredd & DJ Nu-Stylez!

  • Hello there Brian!

I need some help with dj soft ware.

Wich one its better for you Bpm (alcatech) or virtual dj.

I have some problems using both in windows vista.

I wonder if you can help me or if you know any other good cheap dj soft ware.

PD: I love your videos Thanks.

  • easy dj start upp in 2009.

1.buy a laptopp that meats the requirements for Serato Itch.

2.buy the numark ns7 all in one mixer/turntables made for serato itch

    3.get a decent PA system

    4.for entertainment get some lights

    and ur settt..

totall about 2 thru 3 thousand for everything

    thats what i did.

    and im loving itt

  • good video.=]

    how much can serato cost?

  • Damn this is ill Rock de killed him self..wow I grew up wit all these dudes nustyles now i live In San Francisco.//.

  • i was wondering about getting ns7's with serato ITCH...whats the difference between Itch and the scratch live?

plz help me out trying to make a decision

  • get which ever one you like more. i would prefer serato. that ns7 i all one piece. if something breaks.... you are out a whole unit. if one of your turntables goes bad or something you can just get another one or mix using seratos instant doubles for one deckmixing. ust comes down to personal prefference

  • SERATO IS OVERRATED.

Serato? Yea.. traktor can beat that stuff any day. Their timecode is tighter then serato and their soundcard is better then serato..

Yup, I'm gunna talk about virtual DJ. Virtual Dj was mixing video and had a sampler LONG BEFORE SERATO. Serato is just behind on alot of shit.

    Traktor FTW.

  • made the switch from traktor to serato.... wont go back. ttm57sl is the shit. cant go wrong. i feel more like a dj compared to when i was on traktor. i relied to much on the program. ehh it has nice effects and all but traktor was mainly mea to be a midi controlled software

  • Are you talking about final scratch?

  • i think i'm going to buy serato scratch live...but if I buy a mixer "Behringer djx 750"...serato works on it? Does anybody know this?

  • Serato works with all mixers

your turtables \ cd players are pluged in the serato interface. They play the timecode to the software and from the interface you get the output of the software from each turntable \ player from cinch jacks.

  • let me ask you this. i know back in the day when a dj was going to do a guest spot all he needed to take was his records to the radio station or club. so now that dejaying is all digital what do you take to do a guest spot. your laptop? and your time coded vinyl?

  • Hey Tell dJ DJ Nu Stylez tHAT iM gOING TO BE a dj when i grow up..

    and i want serato

  • awesome vid, i was looking for a close up of serato. thanx

  • Great video! question.. is there any bpm matching options? i see that the bpm of each channel pops up while spinning.. is their a tempo match option like on virtual dj?

  • fuck the bpm match man, thats the fundamental of it all!I If you need help there, then you are not ready for this this technology yet...

  • So helpful! :))

  • This was really informative... thanks man for this and all your other vids that i'm about to hit up

  • nu styles you tha man!!

  • RIP ROCK D

  • hey can you assign the loop points to an external midi controller instead of using the keyboard?

  • yes, you can midi assign just about any "clickable" function to a midi controller.

  • Hi, how can i erase tracks and folders from my library? i select the track or folder and push delet but it does not delet the track or folder, the library its not protected, can you help me?

  • select what you want to delete and hold CTRL & press del :)

  • what's a good website to download music for this rane software ???

  • I hate that this video was so damn dark! Brian you gotta do another 101.... This was very helpful....Muah!

  • How you been babes?

  • Hey Brian, Just starting off in DJing, can you recommend any websites or digital record pools to get songs for the Serato???

  • who sent you?

  • cool video dude!

  • MILWAUKEE!!!! No Request and RB! Shoulda got KCU and the rest of them there.

  • The scratch live excludes a mixer? Can I hook up any mixer with scratch live? Thanks, awesome vid.

  • Yes you can use any mixer. They have a mixer with it built-in as well

  • Thanks for the videos!!

Have you made any videos on how to hook up the ttm57sl to cd players from start to finish and use ssl in conjunction? I have a pair of Numark CDXs. I am new to digital mixing.Let me know if you can help or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks God bless!!!

  • No, sorry about that. I don't have the mixer to demo. I do know someone who does so perhaps we can get together with him and do a video on it.

  • Thanks for the response.Pls let me know when that develops!! Peace and God bless.

  • If you have any other things on the more technical end of serato please put it up!

    Thanks man,

    Respect!

  • Hi Mellon

I have a few very basic videos on SSL, but nothing advanced. It's all very elementry but feel free to have a look!

  • Will do, thanks anyway!

  • The other vids were helpful, but i already knew the stuff! I knew serato was capable of that loop function, but i couldnt get it working! That video was 100% what i was looking for, thanks to you and the other dj demonstrating!

  • Thanks! Useful :)

  • Cool Brian..

  • Great video Bri, I'm thinking about buying this program.

  • I just did some videos on how to hook everything up. Check my main page and go back about a month.

  • Sweet, Thanks man

  • Also, if you look at the video THIS video is a responce to, it'll tell you how to download the program for free and get everything organized so when you do buy the interface, you'll be all set to go!

  • Bri-- If I did use Serato- Would I need to buy new needles?(digitrack I believe it's called) would normal Ortofon Concorde's sound good with this setup? Thanks

  • Any needle & cart will do

  • If you take a look thru my videos, I've done several lately on how to install SSL. Feel free to browse my channel.

  • Well, Rane SSL is the industry standard. As you know, Rane is great stuff. I haven't messed with Final Scratch because everyone I know uses SSL. Every club I've seen in the last few years is using SSL. It's a very solid program that has free updates. The hardware is very solid. I'd say SSL is the safest bet for someone who wants to go time coded vinyl.

  • better for what?

  • i did know that.... but you helping alot with your videos one more time thanks bro

  • ey bruh, props 2 makin these videos nd to matzestyle, so wut if its boring, its a tutorial, school is boring as fuck but u still gotta c thru it 2 learn wut 2 do

  • Yeah it's not always "Fun" to learn some of these things. However, the end result with some well retained knowledge is you GET to finally have fun with your stuff :)

  • do you dj tutor

  • Do I DJ Tutor.. well I try to. Have a look at some of my vids. I try to share what info I have along with several other DJs here on Youtube. You can also check out djtutor dot com

  • is this and finalscratch basically the same thing?

  • It's the same concept, but SSL seems to have become the industry standard. I haven't personally messed with any of the other virtual vinyl interfaces out there.

  • I LOVE the vinyl ripping but damn, you got to manually edit all the tags. And there are like 800-900 vinyls. I guess just rip 5-10 a day at a time...Doh!

  • Oh it's no doubt a process that nobody looks forward to.

  • got DAMN he sounds like just ice cube, good dj tho, and program

  • IM JUST STARTIN 2 BE A DJ

  • me too :)

  • boring

  • fucking mad video man!

    thanks heaps

  • i like Virtual DJ's "skin" or look MUCH better than this. but the programs are equal.

  • pretty cool program :D

  • Love that video and looking forward to the future. Thanks

  • Thanks Jetta! Stay tuned

  • WOOOOW! Awesome video Brian! But next time you get to talk with someone from the radio you should ask them about being on the radio, How they got their what they think, You know things like that? I only ask because radio is where i wont to be, Nice! ;-)

  • WOOOOW! Awesome video Brian! But next time you get to talk with someone from the radio you should ask them about being on the radio, How they got their what they think, You know things like that? I only ask because radio is where i wont to be, Nice! ;-)

  • We'll be doing Videos with Rock D in the future. It was such a crazy day we didn't have time to talk about his projects in detail. Johnathan was on the radio for several years. You should ask him radio questions.

  • man, i want that!!

  • It's way cool! Soon I'll break SSL down "Brian" style. HA!

  • I bought M-Audios "Torq" which does the same as seratos scratch live, and I'll also break it down in videos for ya all out there, because when I looked out for good demo videos and description of possiblities I felt like there nearly is nothing like that at all. Not for Torq and not for Scratch Live. No one breaks it really down noobystyle ;) oh, got an idea...I'll contact you ;)

  • word nice video . good explenation . I would like to see more from this guy he's great ;)

    peace

  • Next time I run into Nu-Stylez, I'll see if

I can talk him into doing another video.

  • Awesome video. This is the kinda setup I'd die to have. We need more videos like this. Keep up the good work man!

  • Stay tuned! There's many more to come. I want to start a Guest DJ Spotlight series for different perspectives.

  • RSSL i gonna get next year its good, i will use that for the songs i cant get on the vinyl's :) awsome program

  • You'll use it for everything. It's just too convenient!

  • I got an email from a local Audio Shop that a few DJS and a rep. from Serato would be in town to do a demo. Unfortunately, I won't be able to go. Oh well...I know about most of the topics they were going to cover.

    Would have been cool though.

  • I got lucky on this one because I know Rock D who organizes differnt clinics.

  • I dont understand. So when you press play on your turntable it will start going on the computer?

  • Yeah, that's the concept. If you do a search for this product on youtube you will find many introduction videos. Look at "Thehappyviking". He's got a series

  • The vinyl is all "Time Coded", meaning that the grooves hold digital sounds representing ones and zeros. As the record plays the software reads these strange sounds and translates them to a point of time. Then the mp3/digital media plays at whatever point of time thats being played on the time coded vinyl. If that makes any sense...
