I have the Stampede for 3 months now, and it is really a great truck!
Fun tot drive everywhere, and really it's killing every Rustler in sand, grass, off-road.
Easy to drive too, perfect combo with a 2cell LiPo 5000mah!!!
The stability at braking and immediate acceleration on the road are quite bad, so this is really not the car to win from the Rustler when it comes on-road...
Oh, and the 2cell lipos are definitely faster than the standard 7-cell NiMh!
hey i got the same truck but it doesnt hav as much power like yours it starts out so slow then in sec. it pick up speed.I think it has to do something with the motor.I sprayed some kind of motor cleaner and all the sudden when i went to run it again it lost power can you help me fix it any suggestions what should i do??
these are "Brushless'' motors, these motors dont have brushes to clean. so if you sprayed some kind of cleaner in there its probably going to screw the motor up,
but if the motor isn't ruined you can drop the gearing in your pede to an 18 pinion or even drop your gearing on the spur gear as well,
and it helps if your running a lipo, and since this is a video traxxas made these trucks are probably running some kind of 3cell lipo
@mlbbeast15 what you SHOULD have done is open up the motor and take the rotor out and then clean it with motor spray. You motor is running slow beacuse you sprayed unwanted things into the motor causing it to slow down.
Great video clip, well done. Just getting back into rc now( mostly for my 5 year old.) We used to buy matched packs. This means every cell in the stick is EXACTLY the same. The machine spits them out into different batch bins.So if you pick 6 cells from one batch, preferably the ones with longest run time etc written on the cell label you will find the battery performs much much better in every way. Ask for a matched pack or a bag of matched cells, go home and solder. Done.Happiness
god my truck sucks ive had tons of problems like mine will go at very slow speeds and low power and ive had it all looked over and i cant get tit to work ! i want to send it back and get another one!
I just bought one of these the other day. I thought my old Nikko buggy was a blast until now. Venom 5000 battery packs really got my Stampede moveing! Great job Traxxas!
I just became a proud owner of one of these. My old Nikko buggy was alot of fun until now. The Venom 5000 battery pack gets my Stampede going at very hi speed. Great job Traxxas.
Build your own packs. The guy on eBay just takes batteries from all-battery and rebuilds them and raises the price. He sells a battery for $55 that can be bought from all battery for $20.
Building your own packs in SxS will also give more runtime, and better top end.
7.4 lipo with a change of gearing makes it pretty well uncontrolable. I dont see much need to go with the 11.1, besides the novelty of going 75 miles per hour.
The battery is expensive, but it is explosive! It is definitely well worth your money. Until we get them on our site in a couple of weeks, I would really just suggest going to MaxAmps. They are a great company, and just know when we get them in at HobbyTron we will have them for cheaper. Until then you can get the 8000mAh for $209.99 and the 4000mAh is $104.99.
Yeah, Traxxas tells you to use a LiPo for that wheelie and speed ability. They say 11.1VDC @4000mA-hr and 8000mA-hr. I found nothing beyond 5000mA-hr at the 11.1V and it is $180! They wont answer any questions about the batteries either.....

Dont spray anything, don't take out or add anything. Read the manual before making any changes. The manual gives u the safe options.

What's with the gay wheelie bars?
timbulb 2 years ago
@timbulb Why not put a wheelie bar? It protects your body, motor mount, and motor? How is something protecting the rear of your truck gay?

Go on ebay they sell em there. or you could buy the 10.8v nimh batts and still be going 55+MPH Not bad. and a lot cheaper than lipo batts

very true 5000mah 7.4v lipo works just fine for track and practical driving.
