  • im 15, and loving it (: !

  • @tasharri03 haha...sounds like you know something about a lil soul then....

  • now this is a very nice jam by them two.....

  • I love this duet. I have been listening to it since high school. Usher has been more successful than Monica. I think X Factor USA contestants Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty would do justice with this song, with Rachel Crow doing Monica's part and Marcus Canty doing Usher's part.

  • that did NOT sound like usher!!

  • i like this song, but i think Tyrese would have been better than Usher in it, but he did ok.

  • ეს ის მონიკაა ?

  • FACÇÃO CENTRAL (2)

  • This remake was hottttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • I love this song Monica sounded better than

  • FACÇAO CENTRAL

  • they should have left this song alone...... Why Monica insists on remaking classics IDK. the only classic she made that was even okay was Misty Blue by Dorothy Moore the rest including this was not good at all. Some songs just dont need a remake !

  • If you love music, please do some of us a favor by keeping your negative comments to your self! So amazing that some so-called fans are not in to music at all------If you do not care to be into all music----just listen to what you like! I very much enjoyed the delivery of both artist and they are both talented and also enjoy a wide fan base!

  • Does anyone realize that those are the same comments your parents made about your music! is it really that different or have you change into your parents.sometimes we (yeah I said we) just don't get what changes have been made..your kuds will in 20 years say the same thing. I say Just relish in the fact that we were part of a magical time and let it be!!

  • lame

  • Facção Central - Não Quero Ser o Próximo Defunto

  • Amazing! The two are some of the best in the business. I am so proud of both of them. They both can have a career like Patti Labelle, because they are truly the real deal.

  • I really dislike today's R&B, but this particular rendering to "Let's Straighten It Out really made it, kudos to whoever the producer is.

  • They KILLED this song to only be 14 or 15 at the time...

  • Who cares about comparing it to the original (no diss to the original but comparing isn't the point). Monica and Usher were teens and they brought the heat on this joint. That's very impressive for a teen to be that grown on a record.

  • 6 people won't flat iron their curly hair.

  • Dis rite hur is a killn

  • What's the original??

  • I love the way usher and monica deliver their own selft originality

  • Oh yeah they got it!

  • I like the background vocal arrangements.

  • This just got facebooked. This some hard shit here!

  • they had some strong voices for their age

  • i like the original better

  • @derwinmicheal What's the original???

  • ROCK ON YOWEYOZZA!!!!1

  • Latimore is my great grandfather and this ong went to my great grandmother and they never straightened it out. :(

  • boy u can't say this isn't good music!

  • This is throwback grown folks music. These youngsters put it down hard.

  • one of the best remakes

  • I want to repeat something someone pointed out 5 months ago. Monica was 14 and Usher was 16 when this was recorded in 1995. That's impressive. Latimore's song was grown folks music.

  • Man I miss the 90's!

  • I'm in love with that beat!

  • A very good remake of the original Latimore song that I that I heard as child.

  • i cant find the origional....

  • @1lilpenguin3 Gwen McRae - Let's Straighten Out

  • @1lilpenguin3 the origional song is lets straighten is out by latimore.... the cool thing is that latimore is my grand dad. wat r the odds of that.

  • @Lfighter83 yup we so awesome. Latimore's the sex! :)

  • Nice remake of a classic.

  • I just noticed that they changed the lyrics a little bit because they were teenagers at the time. That's understandable.

  • I have the Monica's first CD with this on it and I've always listened to the album version. I didn't even know a version like this one was out. I like it!

  • I didn't know Monica did a version of Lattimore song but it's pretty good. gotta admit

  • @Savvynlady They did a great cover of one of my favorite songs!

  • Um maybe some of y'all r 2 young but this is def Usher. Google it if u want but I was a tween and had the CD so I know this is Usher. He was just going thru puberty.

  • definition of rythem n blues! right here

  • like the rythmatic twist they put to it blended old strings with new synthesizer both monica and usher harmonizing perfectly great remix love it

  • This is Usher! They were both like 14 at the time when this was recorded but this is him.

  • @LilMizzLaydeeBugg are u serious 14 didny know that

  • WHY IS R&B N RAP POP NOW A DAYS???? SMH

  • THIS IS NOT Usher on this song!

  • LOVE THE TRACK! I HARD THIS SONG BY IT'S ORIG. HIT MAKER BENNY LATIMORE AND GUITARIST JOEY MURCIA DOWN IN MIAMI, AND MAN IT'S A GREAT TUNE THAT I'M SO GLAD USHER AND BROUGHT IT BACK. NICE JOB!

  • WHEN THIS CAME OUT????

  • THEY KILLED THIS SONG..LOVE THE O.G.TOO,BUT THEY DID WELL

  • this is myyyyyy shit......she still got!! you go monica!

  • they were kids when they did this one . voices were stronger too more level and just sang real soulful the two of them still great voices today but the style is so different i miss them at their best

  • i dont know if latimore wrote this song or someone wrote it for him, but this song is built around one of the most wicked bass lines in history.....(both versions)

  • Monica was 14. Usher was 16! So talented!!!!!

  • she was only 14. Usher was was 16! so talented!!!

  • yeah i like this kinda songs so much

  • @busii90 Yeah, I barely even listen to any musicians in America nowadays unless they happen to be one of my favorite singers but in all honesty, I want r&b music to go back to the way it was.

  • Usher So Kahute HAhaXx

  • WOW, Go 'head on Monica and Usher ! :)

  • love you Monikaaaaa

  • Respect! love the soul groove ooooohhhhh yeahhhh! need more this stuff

  • nice groove

  • Ahh monica !! lol the most beautiful woman ever !

  • ONE MORE COMMENT ON THIS DUO....Johnny Gill sounded FULL GROWN AT 17 but dang USHER WAS 16 when he belted this tune. I would be willing to see somebody come out singing like this nowadays...nope...THE RULE OF THE DAY for young people in the industry these days is sounding like ya 10 when you're 16...lol

  • @TubeGuest5178 he was younger than that

  • they gave their 110% on this and they weren't even 18 yet! lol.....nobody out there got it like this nomore...lol forreal tho. These were kids doing it to DEFFF.

  • Lattimore orginal still kicks ass!!! BELIEVE THAT!!!

  • Usher was only 14 when he sang this. Damn...

  • @rudiedisone almost Monica was like 14-15 and Usher was like 16-17 but is so good that they cover a blues song...thats wats up !!

  • @rudiedisone Yuuup Monica was 12

  • love the original to this song - nice to hear it with a modern twist

  • omg! they still sound the same! the best singers still to this day!!! i love usher and monica they need to do another song together now!!

  • I did not that this version existed. I like the original by Latimore better, but this utilized the vocal skill of both them very well. Good post!!

  • @amoeba12 ov wright-lets straighten it out version is good too

  • usher LO MAXIMO EN HIP HOP

  • I never heard this b4

  • One of their oldies that I hadn't heard since I was a teenager. These two were always my favorite singers and still are, this why! Damn they can sing.!!

  • yeh baby

  • Someone please tell me what happened to this type of R&B? the good kind... I mean I have no problem with the way it is nowadays but I just think that the way R&B was back in the 90's was much better in my opinion.

  • THUMBS UP AN AGREED!!

  • @itsjustwhatever92 I'm with you some R&B artist today have this feel to their music but the industry trys to suck that right out of the indivdual. Man in the word's of Madea I wish the artist today would sit down for a moment and let us get some real music back.

  • @itsjustwhatever92 hey u need to check the rythm and blues from the 70 thats where it had the real soul you no 50 60 70 soul

  • @itsjustwhatever92 hey u need to check the rythm and blues from the 70 thats where it had the real soul you no 50 60 70 soul this is okay though but it aint like the seventies soul music

  • @Rolandvids I have and I really liked what I've heard so far. The singers from the 70's that I like are Angela Bofill, Stephanie Mills, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, and many, many others.

  • @itsjustwhatever92 uummm what about Aretha Franklin..lol

  • @ArethasChild I like her music too, she also has a nice voice.

  • @itsjustwhatever92 ..... I agree music now is mostly about drugs, violence, and gangs.... What happen to love and respect??????

  • @itsjustwhatever92 ..... I agree music now is mostly about drugs, violence, cheating and gangs.... What happen to love and respect??????

  • @itsjustwhatever92 Simply...today's R&B is too sampled and not enough real musicians are involved....But I'm inpressed with this performance...

  • @itsjustwhatever92 well...actualy i have a big problem with R&B today!!! it's just,FAKE...R&B should have soul and feelings,not money and fame!!!

  • @mehiarss I know, where IS the soul in R&B nowadays?

  • @mehiarss amen

  • allyuh realize when she record dis track she was only 12 she did damn good

  • really. wow. how old was usher?

  • Baltimore feat Gwen Mc Crae version's better. back to the roots

  • I just really listened to this.. whomever uploaded this mixed this song.. this is not the verison on Monica's first album..I know that version start to finish.

  • It was on the "Panther" movie from back in the day. One of the dopest soundtracks ever

  • this is a good remake i usually don't much like remakes of old classics but they are pretty talent ...

  • woah usher killed it!

  • one of the best remakes ever true story

  • da took care of that song!!!!

  • This is one bad duet! Such raw talent. Listen to them...omg...mid teens too.

  • Monica was 1 4 when this album came out, she started recording it at 12-13.

  • Raw talent from the A.T.L. It's very hard to remake a song this way, but they did it. Good way to represent HOTLANTA guys.

  • This was one of my favorite Monica songs, back in the days, still is the whole CD is the boom!

  • It is hard as hell to believe they were only in their early to mid teens when they sang this.

  • nothing to compare with the Gwen version... anyway, we live in this very moment... music for the masses..

  • I'm an older head and know all the popular versions of this song. I think Usher and Monica did a great job!! It has an old-school feel with a "new jack swing." Love it!!

  • i think they did a great job but its not like ov's

  • that was a really cool song by the duo.

  • they did the damn thing with this song. i love it. i wish RNB was like this now

  • the original is O.V WRIGHT listen to the original and you will see the difference.

    be cool

  • OMG bring back the 90's. This is REAL singing. TWo of the best and my favorite singers. I love and support them both. WOW at such a young age

  • and the duet version is with Gwen McRae and Latimore

  • yes, the Original is MUCH BETTER

  • whats the original then?

  • the original is better, nobody can touch OV WRIGHT especially this song, immortal!!!

  • Do you understand this song really? bottom line fellas work out your problms wth your shorty!

  • What a beautiful picture of Monica.

  • I had no clue that was usher singing, he sounds so different. I used 2 love this song 2 but never wondered who it was

  • i dn't think she can match this monica on her best trust me 90s is the best

  • yess!!!!!!!!!! she does i still coped the makings of me but it aint nothin like her first three albums

this song is hoooooooot!!!!!! put a smile in my heart n reminds me of when i was a kid in the 90s ,when music meant something, usher n monica slow jam :)
