You know FFRomee, Smallville was never cancel. The producers ended the series, beacause the purpose of Smallville was to bring to television, the story of Clark Kent's jouth, before he turn into Superman. And since Clark discovers his true destiny, when he turns into Superman, he series must end (wish totally makes since to me). And who knows, you could get use to Justin Hartley as Aquaman.
