The video was taken by a passenger, who had his video confiscated by the police, and he had to GO TO COURT to get it back. What was the airport doing with it's surveillance video that it undoubtedly had? Lesson: Don't trust the RCMP OR the Airport.
I think this disaster was a perfect storm from 3 things.
1. The militarization of airports where everyone is now considered a terrorist.
2. Vancouver is now an asian immigrant town, not a white immigrant town. Something tells me if this guy had been Chinese, he would have had a 1000 translators available and this entire incident wouldn't have happened.
3. The RCMP officer wielding the taser is black. The RCMP officer in charge, is native-looking. Both officers are so-called "visible minority".

As people were saying, he didn't speak English and turned out they had no translators to speak Polish (which what was later found out). The airport made changes--they have more translators (finally), having public safety officers to do negotiation and non-physical intervention, etc. Unfortunately this had to happen for the airport to make those changes.

Tazering does not kill people. The truth was, he was in a sort of "adrenaline rush" sort of state, and was going to die anyways, as his heart was going so fast it would have given out. The tazering is simply used to subdue, it does NO harm. Yes, it was wrong of the officers to jump to the tazer immediately; I'm sure they could have dealt with him without using a tazer, so it is the fact they lied about their intentions/such in court that makes them wrongdoers. There's nothing wrong with a tazer.

His plane got Delayed, he didnt know english, his mother that was livin' in vancouver for over 10 years was supposted to wait on him in the airport, but she tho he already landed and is on his way to her house, she left the airport. After 30 minutes since she left he landed, he was waiting on her for over two hours, so he got frustrated and wanted to finaly get off the airport and call her or something else, they had special translation machines in the airport but they didnt use them. Sad...

I did shore patrol in the Navy, we would get drunks that would freq out like this guy sometimes and we would chain them down to a stretcher. After a 3-4 hours of yelling like idiots they would be fine. They would lose a stripe and that was it. Now days they just taze or beat them to death!

This is a video of a casual, chaotic and heartless execution. Some of these killers still work as police in Canada. Vancouver Airport remains unsafe for travellers. I wonder if it's even safe to visit Canada if they are incapable of punishing this death squad.

@00martaa He apparently was waiting at the airport for a looong time and this was the result. As people were saying, he didn't speak English and turned out they had no translators to speak Polish (which what was later found out). The airport made changes--they have more translators (finally), having public safety officers to do negotiation and non-physical intervention, etc. Unfortunately this had to happen for the airport to make those changes.

Tazering does not kill people. The truth was, he was in a sort of "adrenaline rush" sort of state, and was going to die anyways, as his heart was going so fast it would have given out. The tazering is simply used to subdue, it does NO harm. Yes, it was wrong of the officers to jump to the tazer immediately; I'm sure they could have dealt with him without using a tazer, so it is the fact they lied about their intentions/such in court that makes them wrongdoers. There's nothing wrong with a tazer.

His plane got Delayed, he didnt know english, his mother that was livin' in vancouver for over 10 years was supposted to wait on him in the airport, but she tho he already landed and is on his way to her house, she left the airport. After 30 minutes since she left he landed, he was waiting on her for over two hours, so he got frustrated and wanted to finaly get off the airport and call her or something else, they had special translation machines in the airport but they didnt use them. Sad...

Lets not forget this victom was exausted and confused he just flew from poland to Vancouver and then had to wait for about 12 hours in the airport no food,water and did not speak english.The officer in charge Cpl. I have been in the same situation in Siberia, but the Russians are more civilized, and helped me get an interpretor. It's terrifying I can tell you. You feel you will not survive.

Well, you must be one hell of a lot smarter than Doctors b/c the Coroner said the drugs in his system was the casue of death. Thats the outcome in 100% of taser deaths by the way!
Tasers don't kill anyone! They can even be used on pregnant women. Every cop who carries one has been tased. No cops have died!

the controlled tests that you see taser inc & the police tout are not realistic

actually that asshole coroner said that it was 'probably because he was an alcoholic, which may have contributed to a heart condition'. The dude had a couple drinks on the plane and that was it.

Speak for your own country. What did you want them to do? Run in and tackle him? Why put themselves in danger? He was picking up objects, objects that could be used to do some real damage. He was out of control. They were trying to talk him down for quite awhile. The cops you want sound like they would come from the movie "Demolition Man."

homeiz the report said from the court evidently the police tazered him 5 times and accused the victim for possessing a threatening weapon which happen to be only a stapler.
I dont get the logic of how a stapler can be threatening. Also there are 4 police officers, are they all pussy of a tiny stapler?
