I can understand what music Mods used to be into in them days, The Kinks, The Who etc, but always wondered what exactly the Rockers were into in the mid 60s, there was no HM then and no "Rock" music as we know it .. maybe The Doors but that seems a bit to American... any ideas anyone ???

im 15 and i ride a Piaggio Ciao :) We bought it yesterday and it's supposed to not do more than 30 km/h but mine does around 50 km/h without tuning it :) Everything is original and that's the way it should be.

I have a 1958 Li 150 framebreather and a suzuki GSX750, i have been a mod since 1980 at the age of 16, well are all riding bikes with two wheels, and we all get along fine now in the UK. i have not seen a problem for over 20 years

Cool Video. The thing I most remember about the Ghias and Vincents were the higher-geared transmissions like the 60's-70's BMW's. Whoa! talk about smooth cruising at high speeds. The Japenese did well in copying (them).

Mods were inspired by Mod music like The Who, while Rockers were just a bit older and had been inspired by Elvis, Gene, Vincent, Eddy Cochran, etc. The Who had a big hit doing Eddy Cochran's "Summertime Blues." Every do the ton on a scooter? Rockers had guts, and they proved it. But today, come on, Mods are Rockers are at peace. Who's posing now? It happened then.

in the late 1960s or very early 1970s ITV did a documentary called " all dressed up and nowhere to go " if anyone has it or part of it. stick it on you-tube please. i have been looking for it, but cant find it anywhere. its a good look at what was happening with kids on tyneside then. skins, mods, hairy's greasers etc

Cool Video. The thing I most remember about the Ghias and Vincents were the higher-geared transmissions like the 60's-70's BMW's. Whoa! talk about smooth cruising at high speeds. The Japenese did well in copying (them).
Believe it or not...I remember a Sunday Evening Church service in 1970, Cheltinham-Darbyshire...when, in walked a group of Rockers who simply wanted to see what was going-on inside. The minister didn't even "break stride" in his Sermon....just kept going.....

I was a mod and rode a lambretta until 1969, then I moved to a town full of rockers, so I ditched the sewing machine and rode a Vincent, then BSA, Ariel, then a triton. No matter what the difference in performance, this is a cool video. Whoever took this THANKYOU!!
