  • your lyrics are WAY off

  • @BonzaiBillie1: Better not to put them than putting wrong. But now I will not shake it anymore.

  • @24countryygirl: A little ... but James Franco looks like Beckham too.

  • Why name it Vancouver?

  • Why is this song called Vancouver?

  • @sonsofromance: See commentary "MojoPin83", 1 year ago. He seems to have the answer.

  • Why is this song called Vancouver?

  • Why is this song called Vancouver?

  • Why the fuck is this song called Vancouver?

  • @sonsofromance i suppose you don't have the authority to handle that question, jeff does xD

  • @sonsofromance because he's a genius and he can name it whatever the heck he wants to!! why the heck does it matter??

  • @sonsofromance I'd guess that the title comes from time that he spent with Elizabeth Fraser there. That's who this song is about. Possibly he spent time in Vancouver with her?

  • Heavenly! Uplifting! Jeff is the man.

  • Good lord. I see Tim.

  • "Vines of escape in my mouth"...brilliant!

  • The greatest "oooh" ever recorded? The answer is yes. Yes it is.

  • lyrics are wrong!

  • @delic619: Already talked about that. Actually, I have not found a correct letter for that song. I do not know what is written in the booklet of the album. I've seen two different versions on the Internet. What is correct: 1) "We're where we belong, It should end here, until the end of time", or 2) "Below this we'll end here until the end of time"? I think the first option is correct. See the correction of the lyrics on the side.

  • @amtrotec2 Could be Jeff sang different lyrics on different occasions. He would improvise not only in compostion but in lyrics.

  • @ecald12: Yes, he was a genius.

  • Your lyrics are incorrect... in too many places to discuss here. Please check, just by listening to the song you can see they are wrong.

  • @dhadson: REVIEW THE COMMENTS. Corrections have been fixed to the side. See the video posted as a response. You can point to some other errors in the lyrics?

  • Thank you, amtrotec2, for uploading this gem. So tragic knowing that he had left us so soon, so senselessly. And thank you, Melissa, for posting this @ the other place. There's an all Jeff Buckley tribute project, Possessed By Elves. Get it ~ (•8-D

  • So young and so talented. For me it is an angel. An immortal being. Thank you for your comment.

    Hug!

  • Together with Hallelujah my favourite song of him. One of the best musicians ever.

Rest in Peace Jeff, you didn't deserve to die so young.

  • I am this.

  • that's a powerful song and a beautiful man

  • inverted horizontal 3 e.t.c.

  • this song is amazing his vocals are just breathtaking! <3

  • Jeff was the the best... I'll love you forever Jeff :(

  • Miss you Jeff

  • Jeff at his best. x

  • R.I.P J. Buckley Amen

    he was so young

  • Jeff Buckley, I've promised myself I will find myself someone exactly like you later on in my life (since you are my ideal husband) Then we will both shift over to Vancouver and live happily ever after!

He seriously gave us more to live for, more than we'll ever know..

  • one of the best songs ever!!!!!!

  • Seriously, i'm an avid Jeff Buckley fan from ages ago, and i think this is his best song, followed by Mojo Pin, then Grace. That voice just fucks with your head, it's so good. Just wish there were some other live versions out there than the instrumental. Its instru-MENTAL.

  • amen bro

  • @TomHooligan2007 There are actually.

I'm listening to a not fully developed version of it from his concert in Liquid room in Tokyo Japan right now where he sings.

He also plays the song live at Arlenes Gorcery in 97.

    Peace

  • No clue...but damn I will argue this is one of the greatest songs ever...I mean, how can you contend with a lyric like "as if we are pure in the rain of our contentment"? Magick, my friends, Magick!

  • Anyone have any insight in to why the song is called Vancouver? Does it reference Vancouver BC CAN or Vancouver Washington... perhaps the explorer?

  • Jeff and the band recorded it in Vancouver, British Columbia while on tour. Hence the title.

  • I was hoping so. I love Vancouver very much, and I also love Jeff Buckley's music very much. I'm delighted that the two have sort of overlapped in this way, even if the song isn't directly about Vancouver.

    Thanks!

  • Actually the song is about his sexual relationship with Pavel Bure and Kirk McLean. It was recorded during the Canucks Stanley Cup run in '94.

  • What!? You've gotta be yanking my chain! If you're not you have to tell me where you found this info. But still I say no way. Lol.

  • June '94 issue of Mojo Magazine.

"Vancouver is a song we wrote while on tour. It was recorded in a studio in Vancouver, Canada. I am good friends with a couple of the players on their hockey team. This song is basically a thank you note to them and the wild nights we shared on the gondola."

  • Just kidding.

  • Haha, that would have made me look pretty gullible if I believed it. Even so, it has made me question Jeff Buckley's sexuality, so it was a worthwhile experience. Thanks bunches! :D

  • Jeff could be pretty gay at times. But he liked gals.

  • Thanks for sharing the 'Sketches' song, more people need to experience that too!!!

    Peace, Love & Jeff Buckley~

  • Sorry, correction "His eyes shined on my back as I slept and knew you"

  • Oh Yes! Well observed! Thanks! See the correction on the side.

  • Yeah so many mistakes here!!

"His eyes shined on my back and you knew"

  • :| If your gonna add lyrics to a video at least get them right! Research jeffs songs better before you post wrong material and look like a AssHat ^_^

  • er, these lyrics are really inaccurate.

  • Yea, his voice was like and instrument. I did'nt hear of his music until after he died. I really wish I had because It would have been awesome to see him live. What a musical genious he was.

  • What an awesome voice? His album Grace is one of the most unique I've heard in the last 20 years. He mixes hard rock songs with softer covers of old Brit songs from centuries ago.

  • Nice but please change the color and font and size of the lyrics to something that is readable

  • first time i watched a jeff buckley song.

    think ill get his album.

  • Love this song and of course, many more of his!!!

  • I'm with you on your feelings. I this this could be one of his best, of the many.
