Good for you Peter...I loved both of my grandfathers...and was damn lucky to have had as much time with them as I did. I cherish all of my memories of them.
Bach's Concerto, the story--it reminds me of the church I was raised in. The minister at our church is retired now and the communion has more or less evaporated into the city, but--I still remember.
this is a good story. I would read it printed with great pleasure, even deprived of the joy of hearing it read out loud with your soft voice. Surely these writing classes didn't go to waste.
BTW, maybe it would be interesting for you to know that I'm from Russia, and I try to convince my friend (who is a girl planning on living in Canada) to use your "grumbles" to study English, in part because of your beautifully clean and literary language.
Adding the music in the background truely and honestly gave it exactly what it needed for maximum impact. The story was great, and I was as intrigued and captivated by your story as I ever have been. Great job Peter.
He he he - LOVE the story Peter - reminds me of when I got in trouble as a teenager for taking a pack of cards to my grandfather's visitation. We had 10 of my cousins and I all playing euchre (grandpa's fav card game) in the back room and got scolded something fierce. Personally, I think he was with us playing and laughing instead of with the grownups sobbing....Thanks!
Peter - as always, a wonderful story. I love to hear you read. I am behind a bit on your blog, but I'm still with you. Happy Christmas! Odelia - Columbus, Ohio, USA
Probably your best vid yet. The piece you wrote years ago is very courageous and quite true in my book. I lost a son two years ago, and his mother and I went with a "celebration of life" type remembrance instead of having a preacher. Took a little heat on that from a good friend of mine. Not his call. The son did not believe in invisible people directing his life and he would not approve of them directing his death.
This video was absolutely... inspiring. I'm 14 years old and I've never wanted to go and write a story for hours before. In fact, that's what I'm about to go do now! Your story was amazing. I loved the moral, and the grandson. I wish you were my grandpa. =)
Hello Peter, I loved the story and I wish I had had a Grandad like you; I just became a new subscriber and want to tell you I love your stories and love your sprit so again thank you so much for sharing so openly your life's experience and wisdom !!
hello - ive just started seeing your video's which you've been posting on here - i love them - they are absolutely fantastic - im getting my parents introduced onto u-tube and their getting there - its a great place - and i love listening to your stories - keep up the great work - love ya man!!
You first, sweetie. ;) You could learn a thing or two if you pay attention. Because I'm going to laugh so hard when you get old and some young idiot just as ignorant as you pops off at the jaws and tells you to die.
I'm proud that you ventured on the Quad's in the Dairy. A Youngster might have broken bones also. The point is we're never to old.... So many people stop themselves from living. LIVE LIVE LIVE to the fullest. Age doesnt matter. Thanks Love Kathy
I love you for what you're doing. It's really awsome that there are some senior people out there who accept the new modern stuff like computers and internet. Thank you for doing this :) Nice story
Wow, Peter! Almost 9,000 views! If I had something on youtube, I'd be excited if I got a couple hundred views. I still don't get stars to rate this one; it gets five stars though. Love the story by the way!
The world is truly a better place because of you being in it. Thank you for what you do and thank you for being you! Thanks for crossing paths with us for if you had not none of us would have had the honor of fate letting our paths cross.
Thanks so much, Peter -- another great posting! It's so great to be able to listen to your interesting stories across the Atlantic. Each post is a new adventure!
Another great story, Peter..How clever...I enjoyed the story seeing you in my mind's eye, plus I was thinking that by giving an idea or word (such as things purple) a wonderful story can be told..That's one of the things I love about being human.
You have a lot of years of life experience. Over the years people are changing and that happens silently. Young people generally do not recognize that. That is why your stories about past and your view on changes now are so interesting. Thanks. Inga
Do you think that younger people like to watch Peter's videos for a different reason than older people?
It seems to me that he intends his videos to be a kind of friendship connection but some younger people see him as more of a grandfather figure/substitute. Whereas, others like to relax to his videos. I think again this is not quite what Peter intends when recording his blogs etc.
I would be interested in YOUR thoughts on this subject.
Sir, it was your videos that inspired me to start telling my own stories on Youtube. And anything that i have learnt about storytelling over the last couple of months, I owe to you. You are a true inspiration to thousands. Thank you and god bless.
I was cheking out what wikopedia had to say about youtube, so I found there your name mentioned. That is how I came across your videos. Quet interesting. I wonder what an avarege retired person's life looks like in England, because you are trying to do something else than people your age? May be you could tell more about that because retired people in different countries spent their life differently. Thanks. Inga
and much of it hinges on vocabulary rather than a retelling of the emotion - ie. - "and i was like 'whoa, dude'", rather than "i was scared to death, we were on two wheels rather than on the four" - learn, vloggers, learn.

That story should definitely be published. I particularly liked your dig at organized religion. I think it's all nonsense. A majority of people over here (the U.S.) still believe in talking snakes and virgin births. Most Europeans seem to have outgrown such fairy tales.
I'm watching all your videos chronologically. You're Granddad sounds interesting. Cheers Peter

That story should definitely be published. I particularly liked your dig at organized religion. I think it's all nonsense. A majority of people over here (the U.S.) still believe in talking snakes and virgin births. Most Europeans seem to have outgrown such fairy tales.

"Well, he's not in the position to say." I laughed too hard at this and had to hear that part again.
Did you really dye your hair or was it just part of the writing assignmnent?
