Yup! In notes that Michel Gondry had written, he'd stated that this film was his favorite, so it ended up inspiring the "Human Behaviour" video. I was reading his notes, and that's actually why I searched on YouTube for this flick. <=0P What a great find!
Where did you read this note? I really would like the read what Gondry has to say about this film and Norsteins work in general! Btw anyone else more than me who likes the quality of this particular version of this cartoon? - its magnificent in all its raw, filmic vintage sepia-ness!
I loved this video - didn't understand a word but loved it. Then, I think Andrei Tarkovsky is the geatest movie producer of all time, so not understanding it is part of the enjoyment of creating my own allegorical journey!
well, I dont have a copy with english subtitles, sorry habilebee...
Idekii, the only way I see possible to work that is for me to send you the film and maybe you can edit on a software like Premiere or Final Cut... I dont understand so much about it, but if you are interested I can try... ;)
Alas, I just realized my file is 247 mb (well over the allowed 100mb). If it's not against the terms of agreement or anything, I could probably post a link to the torrent that I got it from.
Absolutely enchanting . . . and oddly familiar in some way.

he usually gives a nod to russian animation...
like in Science of Sleep when Stephanie turns on the faucet and blue celophane comes out....totally a russian stop motion thing, on purpose.

Indeed. Makes you kind of want to live in this place. I always wanted to get the music for it somehow, but surely that's a lost cause.
