  • Absolutely enchanting . . . and oddly familiar in some way.

  • WHET THE FUCK IS THIS....WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT

  • Russia is my favorite country for animation, besides Japan that is.

  • Book “Hedgehog in the Fog” in English and Russian is available at Norstein Collection at Amazon

  • Че за мультик!!!!))))

  • that was amazing, the emotions were communicated so well I understood everything despite not knowing russian.

  • Did Michael Gondry take the video for "Bjork - Human Behavior" from this? Hmm... :)

  • Yup! In notes that Michel Gondry had written, he'd stated that this film was his favorite, so it ended up inspiring the "Human Behaviour" video. I was reading his notes, and that's actually why I searched on YouTube for this flick. <=0P What a great find!

  • Oh wow! It reminded me of that video, but I didn't know it was an inspiration. =)

  • Where did you read this note? I really would like the read what Gondry has to say about this film and Norsteins work in general! Btw anyone else more than me who likes the quality of this particular version of this cartoon? - its magnificent in all its raw, filmic vintage sepia-ness!

  • he usually gives a nod to russian animation...

like in Science of Sleep when Stephanie turns on the faucet and blue celophane comes out....totally a russian stop motion thing, on purpose.

  • I allways loved the deep atmosphere in this cartoon, it's very unique.

  • Indeed. Makes you kind of want to live in this place. I always wanted to get the music for it somehow, but surely that's a lost cause.

  • I just uploaded this video with English subtitles (and sound, too!). You can find the link for it with my other videos.

  • Please please please, does anyone have an english translation?

  • I have one. I will post the text in a few days from that version.

  • where did you post it?

  • I loved this video - didn't understand a word but loved it. Then, I think Andrei Tarkovsky is the geatest movie producer of all time, so not understanding it is part of the enjoyment of creating my own allegorical journey!

  • thats a beautiful short

  • gagaga :D spasiba ! :D

  • well, I dont have a copy with english subtitles, sorry habilebee...

Idekii, the only way I see possible to work that is for me to send you the film and maybe you can edit on a software like Premiere or Final Cut... I dont understand so much about it, but if you are interested I can try... ;)

  • yeah, if I could get both versions, it would be easy to add in the subtitles

Idekil, could you upload the silent version?

    let me know. thanks.

  • Alas, I just realized my file is 247 mb (well over the allowed 100mb). If it's not against the terms of agreement or anything, I could probably post a link to the torrent that I got it from.

  • I found a file with English subtitles but no sound. Any suggestions?

  • any chance this is available with english subtitles?

  • What I ment was: Eventually I had a chance to watch it again. I know some folks who will be glad to see this. It's fun.

  • Hum, didnt understand, but you seem happy... ;)

  • Beidzot man bija iespeeja to atkal noskatiities. Thanks!
