What do you people expect? It was translated in such a way as to keep the original melody intact, which is why it sounds messed up. English isn't a very good language to dub into, as it requires massive amounts of words to be added to make any sense, and thus kill the melody.

I believe the the lines should say "How many tears do I shed?" and "Every heart is not yet gentle." Considering Inuyasha's hardened heart because of the way humans treated him, and Kagome's sadness that he chose Kikyou, these lines arent hard to put into perspective.

Go to Hulu and watch it, they show it in a un-cut original version, it is better and you will get to the all the songs with the eps and so forth. I think that would be better then the manga.
