@Malthus0 i guess that's kind of like the love-triangle in "harry potter and the goblet of fire", with harry, hermione and krum. the scooby doo love-triangle is very much the same. whilst hermione is in love with krum, and velma is in love with shaggy, harry and scooby are roped in because of their links to the pair - for harry, it's hermione and their friendship; for scooby, it's shaggy and their friendship.
So i know it sounds wierd, but even when I was really little I always thought Shaggy and Velma would be cute together and there were some episodes where I thought, "Zoh mi goodness! They getting togethers!" but no... so i have to say, I enjoy that they are together in the new series. @sinistermichael You're far from being the only one. Shaggy and Velma never seemed to have anything between them. There were a few episodes where they danced together and where Velma wanted to be with Shaggy, but he never returned her feelings. By the time NSD-Movies started, Velma was over him.
And yeah, WB's live actions and Misery Stink have changed her character completely, for the worse.

@sinistermichael No, Hanna-Barbera made the original Scooby-Doo cartoons. Those episodes are the true version of events. Warner Bros' Cyber Chase movie (and Zombie Island for that matter) is just an alternate reality of sorts that isn't connected to the original canon show.
In 1983 H-B made The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show, and in a few episodes they get one stateroom. In these cases this room has only one bed, and it is therefore suggested that Shaggy and Daphne shared the same bed.
@hunter4435 Also, Daphne does NOT always hang out with Fred. The main reason she splits up with him is because Fred is the one who splits the gang up on various mysteries.
And lets not forget that it was Shaggy that Daphne chose to hang with for months on end in The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show and The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, and then later again in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo where they actually live in the same house together.

But in the originals Shaggy and Daphne would talk to each other the most AND they would even ignore Fred and Velma just to talk to each other. There are many examples of this. Also, they never GOT to split up because Fred was always hogging Daphne to himself. You can't blame Shaggy and Daphne for how Fred splits the gang up.

When the gang split up for good at the end of the Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Show, Shaggy took the dogs and started working at his Uncle Fearless' detective agency. Then some time after that Daphne hooked up with Shaggy, and then he and the dogs helped her with her job as a reporter. So you basically had entire months (series wise) where Shaggy and Daphne traveled the world together along with Scooby and Scrappy. Believe it!

At most you only had Fred and Daphne in a relationship until the end of the New Scooby-Doo Movies, and there was always something between Shaggy and Daphne until in later seasons that pairing became official, but even then it was subtle. It was never a main focus of the storyline. WB needs to drop the relationship garbage and focus on making deep and involving mysteries to solve. Believe it!

@Munchkin9111 The creator of scooby doo did a live Q&A on this as they said If you did some research you would know that daphne was trying to get together with fred in the original. And on 19 epsiodes of the original series of scooby. velma started to fall more inove with shaggy. on one episode shaggy told scooby " I don't know what's wrong with me scooby there's something different about velma today, it's like I'm falling for her". There's alot of hints through almost each episode.

@sinistermichael No, Hanna-Barbera made the original Scooby-Doo cartoons. Those episodes are the true version of events. Warner Bros' Cyber Chase movie (and Zombie Island for that matter) is just an alternate reality of sorts that isn't connected to the original canon show.
In 1983 H-B made The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show, and in a few episodes they get one stateroom. In these cases this room has only one bed, and it is therefore suggested that Shaggy and Daphne shared the same bed.

@hunter4435 Also, Daphne does NOT always hang out with Fred. The main reason she splits up with him is because Fred is the one who splits the gang up on various mysteries.
And lets not forget that it was Shaggy that Daphne chose to hang with for months on end in The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show and The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, and then later again in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo where they actually live in the same house together.

@hunter4435 Also, Shaggy and Daphne ALWAYS talked with each other from SDWAY up until WB's Misery Stink series, where yeah Shaggy and Daphne don't even really talk. But in the originals Shaggy and Daphne would talk to each other the most AND they would even ignore Fred and Velma just to talk to each other. There are many examples of this. Also, they never GOT to split up because Fred was always hogging Daphne to himself. You can't blame Shaggy and Daphne for how Fred splits the gang up.

When the gang split up for good at the end of the Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Show, Shaggy took the dogs and started working at his Uncle Fearless' detective agency. Then some time after that Daphne hooked up with Shaggy, and then he and the dogs helped her with her job as a reporter. So you basically had entire months (series wise) where Shaggy and Daphne traveled the world together along with Scooby and Scrappy. Believe it!

At most you only had Fred and Daphne in a relationship until the end of the New Scooby-Doo Movies, and there was always something between Shaggy and Daphne until in later seasons that pairing became official, but even then it was subtle. It was never a main focus of the storyline. WB needs to drop the relationship garbage and focus on making deep and involving mysteries to solve. Believe it!

Why in the world did they build up the Shaggy x Velma relationship only for her to dumped for a dog. It's really quite irritating. I would like to say I think anyone wouldn't be in the best of tempers if they were always competing for affection. Shaggy really led her on, and I think that she should be upset. I know they are going to get back together based on the gnome episode. BTW, anyone who thinks Daphne and Fred don't get together need to watch the originals again.

@Munchkin9111 The creator of scooby doo did a live Q&A on this as they said If you did some research you would know that daphne was trying to get together with fred in the original. And on 19 epsiodes of the original series of scooby. velma started to fall more inove with shaggy. on one episode shaggy told scooby " I don't know what's wrong with me scooby there's something different about velma today, it's like I'm falling for her". There's alot of hints through almost each episode.
