Lines like, "No more gold lights for the queen Earth" makes me think of how the Sun could burn out, "And the rockets rain is keeping you wet in your deathbed" makes me think of comets crashing into the Earth killing everything. It's a sad song, but speaks of something inevitable if it were to happen. And I think of the Moon dying with the lines about the waves (Moon tides) having left :(.

are you talking about where their name came from? their guitarist came up with it....he got "def" from all the hip hop acts of the late 80's, you know how they would use "def" to call something cool....and tones just came as a reference to the early acts in music that used "tones" in their names...i.e. "dick dale and the deltones", "checker and the bluetones", etc
