Transformers ROTF Sideswipe

i know i left a comment for this video before,but, i just wanted to say that they are going to repaint him again. It has the same colors in the front half of the car but as you go to the back of the car, it will start turning transparent. its a toy r us exclusive though. its from the line the scan series. they have rotf bumblebee, ratchet from the first or second movie, ironhide from hfd, and sideswipe from the rotf line.

I don't fold the tale pipes down for bot mode because as we know they are his cannons which he uses in mid-air. As for guns, I discovered that my old G1 Airealbot guns can slot into the inside of his forearms, so while not movie accurate, I don't have the urge to get the new mold. I love how the hood on his back can be maneuvered to form wings, even if they are not quite the right shape. I just wish they would have repainted him as a G1 Tracks homage. Maybe they will for Sidearm Sideswipe.

The only downsides of the figure IMO are: (biggest to smallest downside)

1. Stability issues. Thus, Limited (cool) poses.

2. Hip ball joints may be loose like mine. But I super-glued them and they're SOLID! >=D

3. Face lacking some decent paint apps.

4. Backpack. But ah well, Hasbro made it so that you can play around with it. So it isn't so much of a problem.

One of my favourite TFs out of my collection right now. I just love to transform him and play with him! ^^ Great review man! :D

TFs cost twice as much here, and shipping even a small item is at least 20 to 30 dollars.  you'll save more money if you wait for stocks to arrive there.

hmmmm, well I have a guess what the exhaust pipes for.

you know the scene where he kills sideways? the part where jumps over sideways, before he throws his blade notice that he is shooting from the exhaust pipes at sideways as support damage before throwing his blade at sideways.

so that might be the realistic reason why the put it so when you think of playing him or recreating the scene of sideways' death then they just pop off to give it the impression of shooting.

I have a question, is it true that the retail price of sideswipe is lower than the price of toy collectors who sell him for 900 pesos.

sideswipe is a deluxe class figure and is retailed at the same price as all other deluxes found at retail toy stores. P700. in the US the regular price of deluxes is $13. toy collectors sell them at a higher retail price because of the rareity of the figure. some toy collectors even hoard all the sideswipes they can find at retail stores and then sell them at a ridiculous price the next day in their stores. my advice is don't support these toy collectors.

i've even seen a hobby shop selling sideswipe for P1500. just be patient, i'm sure he'll pop up again at toy stores once there is a surplus of stock. perhaps if you can't wait for him to reappear on retail, you can try purchasing hiim online at hasbrotoyshop or amazon

wow,is that so? nah, I already got my sideswipe during the ROTF toy launch, and I have been scanning other toyshops in malls and dep. stores but not even a single sideswipe appeared. wow! my uncle was right about the rarity of the figure.

Sideswipe is my favorite Transformer of all time and I haven't seen him down here in Florida, The only Transformers down here are, Bumblebee, Mudflap,Ravage,Desert Brawl,Breakaway, and Interrogation Barricade.

Sideswipe is always out and very difficult to find. you have to get him on the first hour of new stocks delivery at TK, TRU, Rustans, Kidz Station, etc.

there will be an ROTF event on June 27-28 at Robinsons Galleria (in Ortigas) Activity area 10AM to 8pm. it's sponsored by TRU and Cybertron Phils. If you go there during the first hour you might get lucky and snag a Swipe.

Sideswipe and Leader OP are both out of stock everywhere. perhaps when the movie comes out more stocks will come.

if you really want sideswipe now and you can't wait for new stocks to arrive, you can go to greenhills. some of the hobby shops are selling him for P1,300-P1,500

i got mine at TRU Trinoma on the first few days they came out. they were all gone after 5 days.

he is by far and away, the only figure in the deluxe class you have to get. well, him and sideways. but if you only had money to spend on one, he is the definite, hands-down, no-questions asked figure that you have to get.

Am I mistaken or do you have the heels improperly transformed in order to have him stand?

Love this figure despite the balance issues. I would definitely buy repaints of this guy. He reminds me of Alternity Convoy, but BETTER!

One thing I noticed with most of my ROTF purchases is that kibble is very 'customizable' in transformation.

the feet and heels are transformed properly. it's just a matter of rotating the heels-toes up or down to suit your pose.

yeah, the A-Convoy is just too nice--i have him displayed in alt mode in packaging just to preserve him. you're right about the kibble for the ROTF figures. haven't been disappointed with any except for SS's bot mode and Dem's standing issues

I just automatically folded the heels in because they're hinged. Although a careful inspection of the instructions shows one heel folded in & one out (look at the last 2 images)...can't even rely on Hasbro's instructions :P But I guess that adds to the toy's 'customizable transformation'...heels out=standing mode, heels in=skating mode.

i'm still on the fence about the leader class. because i'm sure you know, that here leaders go for a whopping $60, which is more than what i'm prepared to shell out for any of them at the moment. also, i just hate looking at clearance sales when the prices go on 70% discount. i bought all my leader class figures on clearance for $20 except night watch OP which i had my bro get in the US for $39.
