Awesome that Radiohead got Humphrey Lyttelton and his band to play with them. So moving, thrilling, English gents with gumbo in their blood : D ! Gotta love it all. The first time I listened to Radiohead I remember thinking OMG, this is the music I would make, if I had a clue about (writing/playing) music - and I still feel this way every time I listen to them, every new album. It's as if they manage to translate my feelings, my soul into music. Anyone else feel this way????
So, sorry to be the elephant in the room, but I much prefer the original intro. Once the song starts the piano and backing horns become stale. The space noise is a perfect lead-in from LSP and this just seems... B-Grade.
From the first time I heard it, this song has been my favourite.
I seldom listen to it. It's like a treasure I don't want to spoil. A treasure kept in the dark that can warm me up when I most need it. Scarcity makes it unique.
I used to be annoyed at the jazz instrumental the first dozen listens but one night I just realized how perfect every component of this is and I can not get over this track.
what nonsense possessed them when they decided to take out that intro????????

@TheSqualors Lynching isn't funny to joke about, yet I understand the sentiment.

Yes, this version is better, but it couldn't have been on the album. It's way too jazzy to fit in Amnesiac.

like this one better. more room for jazzin' instead of moving on like a pop song. this has the space like vocal jazz.
