  • @randomdude

It needs the tail for hunting. It will chase a school of fish to the surface, than whip the school to stun/kill some of them. Thus getting easy to catch prey.

  • That tail will leave a nice mark on your ass lol.

  • I love this video!!! The thresher has always been my favorite shark because of it's body size, 25 ft. 1 ft. longer then a great white, and how it's tail is half its body legnth!

  • @StHoes Great White can be 50 feet

  • Love this shark, it has always been my favorite because of its huge size (25 ft, 1 ft longer then a great white) and how its tail is half its body legnth

  • You would think that tail would through them off ballance, but they swim very gracefully.

  • That shark looks terrified, hahah he is a cool fellow

  • Damn! What does it need that huge tail for???

  • Thresher sharks are harmless to humans but, that tail is used to kill schools of fish, so you better be careful of that tail.

  • 0:24, awwwwwwwwwww.. puppy eyes :O

  • Threshers sharks have such long tails!

  • some dude at my local beach caught a baby thresher XD

  • I don't know what's more cartoonish, the head or the tail. I love his wide open eyes. First time I see it, such a beautiful fish! :-)

  • Wow. What an awesome shark! i have been recently into sharks and this one is my favorite!

  • This is my favorite speicies of sharks

  • threshers are so cool looking.

  • i love ythresher sharks, my favourite since i was 5, nice shot man

  • Man that's a sexy fish

  • Beautiful fish.

  • Beautiful fish.

  • Wow I wodner if they were male and female? If so I hope they were gonna mate ^^

  • thresher sharks are so cute ^^

  • Sharks scare the Hell outta me....

  • Wow...amazing...

I didn't even know you can see it here in Philippines....

  • Goddamn, look at that tail! It must have been amazing to see two of these sharks at the same time. I'd like to see it hunt, though.

  • wow, very rare to see this fish at all, let alone 2 at the same time. AWESOME!

  • SHAR FIN SOOUPP WHOOO (sorry, at least one idiot in this video comment is needed.)

  • I like its tail, sexy.

  • MMMMMMM dinner

  • Great shot! Brings back beautifull memories from malapascua

  • Awh I wish I could have seen one when I was there, waited about half an hour but no luck :(. They are so awesome.

  • they`re my favourite sharks, very beautiful

  • kool there in my top 10 i love makos beatiful, terifying, and amazing speed

  • Can their tails actually decapitate people???

  • baisically yes if u get hit just right

  • i heard they fear humans

  • The thresher shark can use its sharp tail fin to cut coral of the reef and later eats it of the sea floor. They are indeed very docile and are known to be friendly.

  • Beautiful swimmer :)

  • I was just wondering what they eat. They don't appear to have big jaws. They look pretty docile.

  • Look at those big eyes!!! OMG I can't believe they are nearly extinct. How could they kill off such a cute looking shark.

  • I agree with you absolutely. I hate those people who kill them.

  • i never knew they were so thin

  • amazing i caught one the other day wondering what kind of shark it was

  • Beautiful. Seen pictures of them since I was a kid, but it's quite a different experience to see them swimming.

  • i saw an episode of blue planet on discovery where they were filming the threshers off malapascua then.. BOOM!! dynamite fishermen.. embarrassing scene.

  • Beautiful video, Im jealous

  • Dive CeBu! Try out Moalboal too. Pretty corals and fish.

  • Its odd to see two together isn't it? aren't they usually solitary sharks?

And great job shooting this. This is one of the first videos of a thresher shark in its natural habitat without it being ripped out of the water and torn apart in the hands of a spoiled man who does it for sport. It just disgusts me to see these gorgeous animals go endangered because of a few assholes who got 'the big one'

    thanks for this man.

  • Its a cleaning station (monad shoal) the sharks come from hundreds of miles away to be cleaned by smaller fish that eat the parasites and debris from their body, you can see one following the first shark, perhaps the other shark is waiting its turn :-)

  • Cool, my favorite Animal. Where was this Thresher shark seen?

  • Malapascua, Cebu, Philippines

  • Monad Shoal - Off the coast of malapascua island in cebu (google it paradise island fo sure!)

  • nice vid, well caught on camera

  • thanks my 1st shark i seen diving was a smaller 1 ,,boy can they move

  • Good Eating !!!

  • We found one today that had beached in Newport Beach, CA during lifeguard training. I believe it was a pelagic thrasher due to the fact that we have a nasty red tide and squid are washed up all over our beach!

  • those can get really aggresive if u mess wit it. it can whip ppl wit its tail

  • yeah! its tail kills its food and can injure divers (if its provoked to do so)

  • Dude thank you so much for that! Have just spent 10 days on Malapascua and only saw one for like 40 seconds. Awesome bit of video mate.

  • Simply beautiful animal! Rare to see on video! Congratulations!

  • To my eyes the most elegant creature on the face of the planet. Gotta stop there complete exticntion for some crappy chinese soup

  • would thrasher attack human ?

  • i never hear that

  • @sergei430amg Maybe but only if ITS frightened or someone trys to provoke it.BP

  • @sergei430amg this is a veryyy late reply..4 years late to be exact lol.. and no they are very docile creatures.. they would only attack as a form of defense if you bother them..just like any other animal

  • @sergei430amg I'm sure if provoked, but that goes for most animals

  • Man, i love the thresher shark...apparently there is a story that a man was looking out of the side of his boat and a thresher shark whipped its tail out and cut his head off...haha, seems kinda bogus to me

still, cool shark tho. Great Vid!

  • great movie i miss monard ,did you see the mantas jump!!! the most gracefull thing i have ever seen

  • holy shitts mayn.

  • To tell u the truth.. this is the very first time I've seen this type of shark on video. Not even Animal Planet has filmed this shark to my knowledge.. I've only seen them in books when I was like in elementary school back in 1994 - 1996

  • Damn.. let yourself be eaten lol...

  • Thresher sharks wouldn't hurt you i doubt. I don't think any shark would intentionally. But I have only heard of bogus Thresher attacks. Like the beheading... i doubt it would be able to because most of its tail power is when it is swimming under water.

  • Great! Stuff!!!

  • AWWWWWWW~ the face is so cute to me

  • lol. slut.

  • Why didn't you get closer? Just kidding, great video.
