Who are these 12 people who dislike this great creation of Mahabharat Epic by B.R. Chopra? They can't be atheists, because if they are, they would still have the courage to appreciate the effort that went into making of this sequence. Are they of another religion? or are they just some hateful people? If yes, I feel sorry for them and pray for them. I am a hindu but I watch and appreciate productions of other faiths..... the one thing about Mahabharat that I cannot comprehend is how the women can just sit in their tents and watch the men fighting and do nothing themselves.maybe women in those days did not want to take part in the action.
Draupadi is a great woman but the only thing she does is lecture the men on their duties. what about self defence and independance? I think women should learn to defend themselves and not hold men responsible for their plight.

In 25:06 to 25:20, this is animal cruelty in its peak, they are using ropes to pull the leg of the horses intentionally. The head of the horse hit very hard in the ground and they may die due to this.
hi pushpargha..yudhistir is an epitome of dhrarma after krishna in dwaparyuga...seems u misunderstood him and also the story..if u watch the episode where draupadi share,it has been done to respect mother's words..and also that was dharma....and also draupadi's fate as lord krishna explains why she has to be shared as it was lord shiva's boon to her in her previous birth....so there is no wrong on yudhistir ..also he knows karna is a great warrior like arjun

@dullesfarm: Will you stop quarelling over the characters and try to understand what concept is said. As well known a character represents a concept whether it is Arjun or karna or duryodhan. Which ever character you are make sure you reach lord's krishna's feet first. There is only one and the best there is and that is Sri Krishna. Dear Wham41, Karna only promised to Kunti that he won't kill any other Pandavs except Arjun. Plz read the correct version of the Mahabharat. Moreover, Karna did not use nagastra bcoz he thought it could not kill Arjun, as it failed in the first instance. Also, Arjun was told the Gita not just because he was closest to Krishna but he was the best warrior and without him the war was unthinkable. About who is better-- Arjun or Karna-- plz read my comments in episode 57. Don't wish to repeat here.
But Karna's story forces me to think that there might be hundreds of kids like him who are abandoned at birth, in so many of orphanages and foster homes. But I would not want any of those kids to emulate Karna, I would want them to emulate Arjun who was ensemble of hardwork & dedication,pure Karma, emulate Yudhistir and vidur , emulate bhishma who dedicated life to country.. But never a Karna ,Dushhasana or a Gandhari who lost their ways midway.

Karna was a great guy, but a confused guy who wasted a life with his confusions.He was a great warrior and could have used his skills for betterment of society than proving himself and clearing obligations to an adharmic person .That is what Krishna did, that is what Arjun did.
All these things happen because of Karma. For only every 100 rebirths you get a birth as a human(you are born as other things in before births).Vishnu says human birth is a nectar through which you attain me easily than other births. So when a person does good karma in his first human birth he is sent to heaven or moksha. If not he is sent to hell and is made to reborn as a physically unfit human or with lots of problem. I appreciate your kindness but it is not in our hands.
Karna was the one who fought against the wrond senario of mahabharat yuga that men is marked on his birth but in real sense we all are son of god and we have equal rights and one should earn respect by thier karma not by birth. Great Karna fan!!!!! But according to me he was a guy of flawed concepts.He had a wasted life and sorry but i dont agree that he was loyal to duryodhan since he proised kunti that he will not kill any pandavas but Arjun.Was that really loyalty? Even if one accepts the theory that Karna moved Arjun's chariot (the authenticity of the theory is questioned as it is not shown here, and many versions of Mahabharat also don't support it), then also it doesn't prove that Karna was better. Bcoz Arjun never had the chance to do it as he was fighting from the same chariot. If Arjun got a chance to move his own chariot and could not do it, then the point might have been well taken. No doubt, Karna was a great warrior, but not the greatest.
I believe that Arjun was better anytime, anyday..Reasons,
1.Karna could never break his bow when Arjun broke his bow ultiple times, in kurukshetra and outside
2.Only once Karna was able to break his bow string or upset him in battle, but that was due to nagastra which had two strengths, with ashwaksena nags revenge and nagastra itself.That was why krishna was worried at that point.
3.Not even once Arjun turned away with charriot, defeated or injured by anyone while Karna did multiple times
History want to send a clear message through the character Karna that , however and whatever the greatness of a person , if he is not on side of 'TRUTH' and 'DHARMA' he will meet his doom!
KARNA was great no doubt, but he ment to live that life , and perhaps god want to send us a message that if a person dont know who he is and his capabilities he might not succeed and attain his goal in life.
Whatever is shown here about Arjuna and karna is not always the right thing. Because, even Lord Krishna and Bhishma pitahma knew it that he is the person who stop Arjuna and so Pitahma din't allow him to enter the battlefield. And that is the reason Surya devta took away his kavach. There ain't no doubt that Karna was superior in many aspects than Arjuna. He was not only a great fighter, but knew dharma as well. He had all the characters of 5 pandavas as said by Lord Krishna.
BR chopra is full of crap. Abhimanyu does not die this way. He is killed during duel with Duryodhana's son. Before that, he kills one of other son's of Duryodhana called Lakshman and many other warriors. B.R Chopra proves to be a man with no vision. He had to do it the bollywood filmi style.

He He, it is quite possible that he didn't get fresh young and pretty woman in heaven to get involved. It is obvious that he felt guilty in front of his own son who possessed greatest beyond imagination virtue, which is still impossible in the human kind.
The man is Bhisma, who is good looking, manly, intelligent, greatest archer of all the time (seems that), sound knowledge in politics, maths (computing). As a matter of fact I didn't find any skills sets he lacks in becoming a king of the greatest nation Bharat Barsha, the son of Ganga.

But Karna's story forces me to think that there might be hundreds of kids like him who are abandoned at birth, in so many of orphanages and foster homes. But I would not want any of those kids to emulate Karna, I would want them to emulate Arjun who was ensemble of hardwork & dedication,pure Karma, emulate Yudhistir and vidur , emulate bhishma who dedicated life to country.. But never a Karna ,Dushhasana or a Gandhari who lost their ways midway.

Karna was a great guy, but a confused guy who wasted a life with his confusions.He was a great warrior and could have used his skills for betterment of society than proving himself and clearing obligations to an adharmic person .That is what Krishna did, that is what Arjun did.

All these things happen because of Karma. For only every 100 rebirths you get a birth as a human(you are born as other things in before births).Vishnu says human birth is a nectar through which you attain me easily than other births. So when a person does good karma in his first human birth he is sent to heaven or moksha. If not he is sent to hell and is made to reborn as a physically unfit human or with lots of problem. I appreciate your kindness but it is not in our hands.

Karna was the one who fought against the wrond senario of mahabharat yuga that men is marked on his birth but in real sense we all are son of god and we have equal rights and one should earn respect by thier karma not by birth. Karna is the real danvir who always gave never asked for return, Karna was the one who knew that he is eldest pandav eventhough he refused to let krishna tell that to yudhisthir because he knew yudhisthir gonna give everythin to him & by that it will go to duryou .

After the war Arjuna felt a little proud..Lord shri krishna on seeing this asked Arjuna to step down from his chariot then asked Lord Hanumanji to step down as well..instantly Arjuna's chariot exploded into pieces and the horses were burnt alive..Lord Shri Krishna the told Arjuna that it was Lord Hanuman who had postponed the effects of the weapons used by Karna..even after that Arjuna couldnt stand the sight of Lord Shri Krishna Mourning the death of Karna..cont..

2.Karna Promised Kunti he wouldnt use same wepaon on arjuna twice..when he used Nagastra it smashed Arjuna's helmet..Karna could have easliy killed Arjuna by using it twice..but he kep his word.

But according to me he was a guy of flawed concepts.He had a wasted life and sorry but i dont agree that he was loyal to duryodhan since he proised kunti that he will not kill any pandavas but Arjun.Was that really loyalty? Point is that Karna moved Arjun's chariot with the Supreme Lord on it... And Hanuman protecting it (through flag).
However, this does not make Karna a good person, despite of his skills. Since, he prioritized gratitutde for someone compared to Dharma

Even if one accepts the theory that Karna moved Arjun's chariot (the authenticity of the theory is questioned as it is not shown here, and many versions of Mahabharat also don't support it), then also it doesn't prove that Karna was better. Bcoz Arjun never had the chance to do it as he was fighting from the same chariot. If Arjun got a chance to move his own chariot and could not do it, then the point might have been well taken. No doubt, Karna was a great warrior, but not the greatest.

I believe that Arjun was better anytime, anyday..Reasons,
1.Karna could never break his bow when Arjun broke his bow ultiple times, in kurukshetra and outside
2.Only once Karna was able to break his bow string or upset him in battle, but that was due to nagastra which had two strengths, with ashwaksena nags revenge and nagastra itself.That was why krishna was worried at that point.
3.Not even once Arjun turned away with charriot, defeated or injured by anyone while Karna did multiple times

And Karna was defeated by Arjun even when his 'Kavach & Kundal' were on.Virad Yudh and Draupadi swayamwar, only time they were head to head.
And Karna was no help when Duryodhan was caught by gandharvas, Arjun had to come still to save him.
And Arjun did not kill or tried to kill for fame where Karna's aim was to kill him and prove himself better, which he wasnt

History want to send a clear message through the character Karna that , however and whatever the greatness of a person , if he is not on side of 'TRUTH' and 'DHARMA' he will meet his doom!

Whatever is shown here about Arjuna and karna is not always the right thing. Because, even Lord Krishna and Bhishma pitahma knew it that he is the person who stop Arjuna and so Pitahma din't allow him to enter the battlefield. And that is the reason Surya devta took away his kavach. There ain't no doubt that Karna was superior in many aspects than Arjuna. He was not only a great fighter, but knew dharma as well. He had all the characters of 5 pandavas as said by Lord Krishna.

Karna is a fallen hero, something goes wrong somehow. I feel like I have been victim of the situation like one the greatest warrior Karna. Arjun has been always protected by somebody but Karna is on his own, a dashing hero.

load hanuman was protecting his rath (chariot.)
lord durga's aashirwad was protecting him from karna's indrastra(shakti)

bhishma himself fought for 11 days. if it weren't for him, arjun and the other maharathis on the pandava side, would've ended the war long ago. Ganga putra, kuru shrest, kuru shiromani (gem), Pitamah bhishma ko pranam! he always protected the hastinapur throne, but never was attracted to it! i saltue the selfless soul:)

The deep faith in dharma of these (Pandavas) people is really amazing. They had vowed not to use any divine weapons which might compel the later generations that its not dharma but, the divine weapons that won the war for them. Great people were they ........

back in Nepal, when i was in 3 or 4th grade we used to have One Sanskrit lesson, Really basic one, and then they removed Sanskrit form entire education system. AS a student , i was super excited and happy. You can imagine it. Now i wish i knew sanskrit a little bit atleast....
