integrated graphics card will allow you to play the game with unit scale on the smallest size and with surprisingly decent graphics settings, but as soon as you start getting big battles with multiple armies, you will notice slowdown. Any dedicated graphics card will find this game no problem, except if you have unit scale on maximum and have big multi-army battles.

The diplomacy in this game makes no sense. Portugal sails across Europe, practically to attack me (I'm England)- bypassing much weaker and more convenient enemies to attack. After I demolish their invading force, they come begging me for peace. So, I make them pay me a large fee, plus a good amount of tribute over the next few turns, along with trade rights, in exchange for peace. 3 turns after that, they send their king to invade and declare war on me again.

you unlock other factions after completing short or long campaign, you start with 5 basic factions like France, Spain, England,...

then you get Russia, Scotland, Denmark, Poland, hungary....

i personally favor the Basilisk cannon for it's range and Chivalric cavalry for their awesome charge,

archers are perfect to defend a fortress, together with some spearmen you can hold it against an overwhelming army

i think its about 100 turns until the guns enter. The computer is pretty slow at using guns so you dont need guns. hope its helps

I had it about turn 160. Cannons just come at the year it was invented like in real history. Cannons arent very super strong, only against walls or else they just bring a little extra fear to enemies.

Because this game features an epic amount of cities to rule, units to control and kingdoms to conquer? It's a little more complicated than Command and Conquer and such, but on the other hand it's seriously epic. A giant war scene featuring ten thousand soldiers just looks awesome, no matter what.

RTW is less realistic. Medieval units die very easily in the game. Rome total war, if you use units wisely, you lose very little. In med total war, doesnt matter. You'll lose a lot of men both ways. I noticed that Auto Battle loses way fewer men than doing the battle yourself. And I play very well. In rome total war, i lost 24 units or less in every battle with units over 1000. Thats how unrealistic it is. Med total war is much harder

Actually it is... in real history knights took a lot of casualties against spear militia. With those spears the horses got killed or slowed down and knights oet thrown off, before the knights even reached the militia.
