  • Woot go Jordan i love you

  • Btw, the X7 series has maple shells. I have a CX series set, but bought a 14" X7 floor tom on ebay and rewrapped it to use on my set. X7's have never been offered in poplar, only the FS series was.

  • @ktphotog39 I've already emailed DW / PDP support to confirm that PDP only began making x7 in maple in 2009. I don't mind the difference, but I'd have to see a bit of extra proof since I personally did email them and got the response. I can forward you the email if you'd like.

  • @ACollectionist That could be right, I guess I just assumed they'd ALWAYS been maple. My mistake. I DO love the fade on your set (mine is the white onyx CX wrap). It looks more blue than in the promo photos, though.

  • @ktphotog39 Thanks. Do you like the color you have better than the promo pics? Also, this kit I recently sold to my dad. I picked up a fairly old Tama Starclassic Bubinga kit. Just wish I knew how to tune/play to get the best out of them.

  • @ACollectionist Can you send me the DW responce to the poplar/ maple. I thought i had Maple but found out the black badges are poplar kits.

  • dude this is the craziest setup ive ever seen ha i thought u were a lefty at first because of where ur double peddle is but then i realized ur just crazy with the setup haha. ts different man pretty cool though

  • @rhettro10 :) Thanks!

  • @rhettro10 Really Cool Indeed!!!! :-)!!!! Thumbs up!

  • hahaha i like your sett upp

  • @3LMUZIKAL :)Thank you

  • don't put anything in your bass drum.. just tune your drums right.. oh yeah, you could set 'em up right too.

  • @TheBass2themax Thanks for the info!

  • @TheBass2themax 'Correct setup' is subjective. Does it look odd? Yes. However, if it works for him, than it's all that matters.

  • vai a lavora'...

  • @vincentcicos Not sure I understand the meaning but I'll say I'm doing what works and I'm still working to improve (howbeit very slowly unfortunately).

  • get better cymbals. maybe try some coated heads. stick a pillow in the bass drum.

  • @ivansays44 Working on the cymbal part and I'm looking to try single ply coated next go around.

  • thats a very interesting setup you got there man!

  • Thank you very much! I'll be working this Saturday to see what other variations I can get.

  • cool drum set can you say for everybody they can add me friend but i have pdp dw and itäs cool sounds

  • Thanks.

I'll let you solicit your friend request on your own though, sorry.

  • good set up but very bad playing and tuning

  • So any suggestions? I'm not sure one can say definitively bad tuning when we consider the mic'ing used (laptop).

  • Thats a wierd set up dude I like it..lol..

  • :D Thanks

  • uhhh....very DIFFERENT setup. I cant stress how much your setup is acustomed to yourself but man, I havent seen anything like that. =]

  • :) Thank's. I've actually switched back to the more traditional setup, but once I get a chance I'll be going back to this as I really enjoy it.

  • to be honest I see exactly how it would be helpful. the only thing is I notice you still lead with your right foot but the way its set up, your using the the "slave" pedal as the primary pedal. The only problem with that is with SOME DB pedals the slave pedal tends to be a little less responsive. But if your using that sweet Demon Drive that shouldnt matter =]

  • Exactly--I'm using them to the max. The only issue I had in this setup was that it moved on me since there was no bass drum to keep it there.

  • yeah I have a problem with my slave pedal moving around a lot too.

  • Interesting setup for the double bass pedal. Never seen it that way before. Is it an easy transaction between the bass pedal and hi-hat pedal?

    -Vicfirth1985 from FDL

  • Somewhat. My remote pedal is a bit jacked and would move around on me. Only so far it could go as the wall was right next to it but still, the stretch was more than I wanted.

If that wasn't an issue, yeah it's really great. With that setup and my current, there is no obstacles to step over, just a foot-width slide over.

  • I lke how your kit is set up. How did you tune your toms in perfect fourths? I never really got the whole perfect thirds/fourths/fitfths thing with toms. This is 0xRAIN from FDL btw.

  • Sup bro?! I didn't do it myself. I had my help from my pastor who's had musical training. I'm not entirely capable of hearing the notes. I'm not sure i used the correct word, it may be natural fourth's (here comes the bride tune, here & come is a natural fourth apart). The keys are C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab. As to the method, I seated both batter and reso heads 3 times, using the star pattern, then I began to hit each batter to see where it was and I (de)tuned the reso head as needed (sounds cool).

  • Nice Kit!The camera does not giverecord audio that good, you should get a better camera, or people will just think that your drums suck.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I'll be attempting to get better recording equipment eventually--but I still have some other financial responsibilities to take care of. I'll just have to risk the criticism.

Any eq you can recommend that may not be hard on the pocket book?

  • If you sell your cymbals, that should give you about $300 or more I believe. then you can buy all cymbals with the same brand, they just fit better together. maybe some cheap goodsounding meinl cymbals. ask your drumshop-guy whitch are the best but the cheapest.

  • cool set up...enjoyed the video
