Mithun's dancing looks so silly and artifical now in 2009 - i guess in the 80's it was ok to look at but certainly not impressive - India should stick to their own culture instead of copying West

In 80's it was not only ok, it was definitely impressive. If you look at any hindi dance song in 2009-2010 you can see the power of editing. Now-a-days you may not be able to see 5 consecutive seconds of dance. Each frame is hardly 2 sec long. Even very mediocre dancing looks great because of crazy editing.
On the other hand note that in this song each frame is pretty long. The dancer has to be very spontaneous as well as technical. Just a good dance routine is not enough.
