I'm pretty sure EVH used el34. A cranked plexi w/ el34 into an attenuator, some reasonably hot pickups and preamp tubes with good gain will get you there I think.
If you paid attention, you'd see where I explained the setup- the speaker and microphone for the audio are in a different room, with the door closed. It's called a guitar cable. It lets you be in a different room than the speaker cab. Which is helpful if you have a baby to look after. The sound level in the living room is much lower than that of, say, said baby tossing pots and pans around on a tile floor. Now THAT is making ME deaf.
No, not really difficult at all, with standard disclaimers about killing yourself with high voltages in tube amps. It's mostly easy just because Traynors are real easy to mess around with due to the way they're built. See your inbox for more info and thanks for checking out my vid!
I loved the tone, my girlfriend loved the cute baby. Awsome Videos.

what kind of tubes you use for the pream? 12AX7?
lastardo 1 year ago
@lastardo Yes, they are all 12AX7, I think I had various Russian New Sensor types (Sovtek, Electro-Harmonix, or Tung-Sol).

It´s good you have humor to read some kind of comments. =)
Well, the tone of your amp is insane! I´m buying a handmade plexi from a brazilian handmaker, and I want to ask you something.
I want a guitar sound closely to EVH´s tone (i´ll buy an atenuator either) and I don´t have sure what kind of tube to power it: el34 or 6550.
Any sugesttions? Thanks

If I got a stock yba-1a would it be difficult to do the mod for the marshall sound in the first part of your video.
