In this scene the clay was strong enough to stick to the other clay man while holding his weight. There aren't any wires, just good clay. For jumping in other movies I use wire, a stick, anything that doesn't block the actual clayman and just edit it out. I've got a tutorial on how to do it on my website forums at mamshmam(dot)com/forums
