  • It's really sad what's happening in Eastern Kentucky, Southwestern Virginia and West Virginia. In a very few years, those mountains will no longer be there. Strip mining will remove the tops of them and fill in the hollows pretty much leveling them. The people will be robbed of their last possession, the very land they call home.

  • i love Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Rent a cabin for a week and enjoy the crazy shopping in Pigeon Forge and strolling thru Gatlinburg. It's like the 3rd most tourist-visited area in the U.S. Tourists from all over the world visit that area. And the mountain scenery during October is unbeatably breath-taking!

    and, thanks!

  • god bless the region

  • Potter and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania make the Poconos look like tiny gum drops in comparison. Other mountain ranges in the continental United States are mere toddlers as compared to Appalachia in all its glory.
