  • I get my first Sugarglider tomorrow she's 8 months old do you or anyone have any tips? Considering I haven't had her since a pup and shes been in a cage all day everyday at the pet store for 8 months? I was thinking of carrying her in my pocket all day and letting her get used to me but i dont wanna upset her.. and I can't take her sister until a few weeks from now cuz they are 250$ A piece here.. any recommendations please tell me I'm new aat this x0x

  • @BrownEyedBabiigirl

Hey. It's good to start small. They will be scared and want to stay in the cage at first. What worked for me was using the two t-shirt method. Put on one long sleeve shirt and then another on top and keep them in there. Mine tend to love the dark and really confined spaces. Worked great and they weren't depressed anymore. Good luck!

  • nom nom nom nom nom! heh heh sweets ftw!

  • lmfao omg that is so cute xD!

  • tommytwin24 is right. Now, only 2 states classify them as exotic pets (CA and some other one which i forgot)

  • Many states classify them as exotic, they just don't ban them. Usually this means you need a license to sell or breed them.

  • i love the look of a happy sugar glider :)

  • mmmm-mmmm flinger licken goooooood! whatd you feed him he loved it!

  • It depends on where you live as to whether or not they are classified as exotic animals. Me and my partner have 2 suggies and even though they aren't that popular here in England, they're not really classed as exotic either, only the heritage is exotic as they are native to Indonesia and Australia. Yet is some states in America they are illegal to keep as domesticated pets as they are classed as exotic.

  • Omnomnomnom

  • lol.. he's like yum yum all the time

  • has to be one of my favourite mamals dont we should have them as pets though seems like they need alot of care and we all know how fickle people can be with things like this.

  • check craigs list, a lot of people get em and cant handle em so they put em up for adoption.

  • nom nom

  • nom nom nom ^w^

  • are these sold at like most pets stores in U.S. cuz if they are id be willing to do the work to keep one there awesome

  • actually if you want one of these you have to go to an exotic pet store, but people have to have a license to sell them, so it's really hard to find one, it took me almost a year.

  • Comment removed

  • they are not classified as exotic pets

  • uh huh, they certainly are x

  • In Europe they are. Should one bring some over the border and has got no paper of ownership or a license for them, they will be taken to a zoo.

  • if they'd try to take mine i'd freaken fight them!!!

  • same here X(

  • In some places they are

  • NEVER buy them from a pet store. There are a lot of stores that will carry them, but much like cats and dogs it is a terrible idea to get them there.

You want to find a breeder in your area where you can visit their facility, check out the living conditions, etc. Barring that, Suncoast Sugar Gliders in Florida is a good place and their method of shipment seems quite humane.

  • why cant you get them at the stoore?

like, wat happened to them, when you buy them from the store?

  • @may11h well since they only breed once a year and have about 2 or 3 babies, they wouldn't have enough to sell openly like they do for dogs and other animals. (:

  • @may11h buying them from the store is bad because they are often fed cat food, and they arent given much attention. It will make bonding more difficult.

  • They are treated very poorly by people who don't know enough to care for them correctly. They require a lot of attention and a very specific diet. Generally they sell them without informing the new owners of all that they need to know resulting in gliders who get sick, sad, and die.

  • i got mine from the petstore and she is over a year old and perfectly healthy.you never wanna get one from a pet store unless you know exactly WHAT your getting. somtimes they are inbred. if you are going to get one get a sugar glider get one from Prissila Price at "The Pet Glider" she works with you to give you great deals and is so caring in making sure they are healthy. also she is happy to answer any questions!

  • LOL OMG. SO CUTE.

    his face is like x3

    cute.
