  • make it colapse like in 2012 :D

  • must have taken ages for rendering because of the reflectivity

  • not add windows and interior and people and peoples scheduals and polution nd trafic. it will only take you decades

  • Looks as if you had fun with this =D

  • Como Voce Faz isso ?

  • is it for mac?

  • yea and its free

  • lol all the skyscrapers are all squared (buboid shaped) but in todays enviroment most skyscrapers comes in different shapes cilindrical, curved and so on......

    anyway nice try.....

  • Yeah this was basically zero work, just played with discombobulator script settings. Some people recently put out a much more savy building script. If you look at my latest post you can see another example of basically zero work. The new script can do several different building types, my short example is just one of those settings. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice but the world texture moves with the camera view?

  • How do you put windows and designs on the buildings?

  • now wipe it out with hours of rendering water o.O lmao great job

  • How do you use the discombobulator that well? I just use it for greebling spaceships, but they end up looking pretty crap

  • You just need to play with the settings. Don't be afraid to turn some stuff off. Believe it or not this was done with a single apply. If I can find the file, maybe I'll post a video response to this with the settings I used. Thanks for watching!

  • Cool. My method is to make a load of cubes, stretch them on the z axis to make towers, then apply the discombobulator individually. it makes futuristic looking scyscrapers

  • Darn. It looks like the setting I used weren't saved since its a script. I probably couldn't replicate it myself now...hehe

  • I should add, if memory serves me right, the only prep work I did was subdivide the plane. Everything else, including buildings height, ect was done by discombobulator.

  • The specularity and reflections don't look right for buildings. Textures would also help, but that's secondary.

  • Hi, 1 thing i think you could do to improve this is create a skybox or sky-sphere. When the camera pans through the sky stays in the same place and it looks a bit odd, i use 3ds max but i thik the idea is the same:

    1:create a sphere (duh!)

    2:Assign a sky texture

    3:enjoy your new sky!

not sure if it'll work but give it a try ;)

The plugin that does this effect for max is called Greeble BTW.

  • Great idea. I haven't played with it, but my understanding is this is a standard blender technique as well. Thank you for the suggestion! Have a good one.

  • Glad i could help ;)also sorry for the spellin g, i wrote quickly...

  • most game use that now... planet hot wheels and tank ball 2 are a few examples

  • oh yes i just remembered... when i was younger i played planet hot wheels, and there was this glitch where i could go everwhere, and i jumped out of a sphere and neary landed in the one i was racing on!

  • What were the discombobulator settings? Looks very good, and would be even better with textured buildings, although that would take a while.

  • only a few minutes! wow thats awsome

  • Blender has a great script called discombobulator. You can adjust various settings to attain a building type feel, and the best part is the whole process only takes a few minutes.

  • i have blender and i have no clue how to use it. im a little young, but i really want to know how to make cool stuff. all i know is how to make my computer lag. and my middle mouse button wont change viewing angle, it shows all the windows running on my computer. can u please help?

  • The best way to learn is probably the way I did. You just need to start going through tutorials. If you do a youtube search for 'blender super3boy', you'll find a young man who has already put together a few with the basics and more. Once you get a feel for the basics, you'll be making cool stuff in no time. Good luck!

  • yeah but my middle mouse button wont change viewing angle so ill have to stick with the top view.

  • For front, side, top, bottom, ect views, use your numberpad. I don't use Windows for my blendering, I use Linux, which I think navigates easier in 3d. That said, before you get frustrated, watch a few tutorials. Blender without an understanding of the basic interface can be utterly confusing to say the least. Good luck!

  • thx

  • how did you model all of those buildings!!!!
