  • None of these excersises are going to do much for people under 40 who are already in reasonabe shape. It's not enough to burn calories, and certainly not strenuous enough to build muscle. I think it's a good idea to treat 'toning' as a myth; either burn calories with brief and hardcore cardio, or build up some muscle (which will burn calories when you sleep). Many hours are wasted through extremely low-difficulty workouts like this. It's basically just stretches!

  • Sure. My point is, a lot of exercises, aimed at women in particular, are patronisingly easy. Girls under 40 can kick some ass in exercise and enjoy it. Too often they're socialised into doing glorified stretches which do less than moderate walking!

    search HIIT on google, high intensity interval training - thats the best for fat loss - also if your not afriad, do some proper weights at the gym - dont worry, you wont get muscley
