All of Sephiroth's amazing skill and training piled up against Kenpachi's seemingly limitless strength, endurance and love of combat. I don't think people understand the purpose of this scene. It has little to do with septhiroth as more it has to do with Genesis, and showing that he actually was capable of potentially besting Sephiroth himself, showing they were actually evenly matched, you can see once Genesis flips out Sephiroth reacts like 'oh shit, he's actually trying' Then he stops holding back as well, and thats when Angeal intervenes. It's supposed to show that Genesis is like a crazier Sephiroth whose just as strong

@TitaniumProAce Well, the point behind this was they had to create an antagonist who made Zack look as BA as he actually is, so they needed someone who was about as strong as Sephiroth. They also probably wanted to emphisize just how strong SOLDIER 1st classes were supposed to be, and what kind of psychological effects the experiments had on them. They wanted to show why Cloud wanted to be like Zack I guess. And to do that, Zack had to beat someone on the level of Sephiroth.

If SOLDIER can manage to break the most basic of swords then why use them at all? Seriously, whatever comes next, if anything, in the FF7 compilation needs a unique feel of game play integrated with the hand to hand combat(ie:Rush Assault). Even if the player is limited to characters aside from those affected with Jenova cells and mako. Of course, we could spend all day talking about ways to go about the next possible entry. Alas, no one cares to pay me for my thoughts....Apparently not.

@Adaruan dude, its overrated, its a great game, but there are RPGs that deserve more praise, the game had bad translation, didnt go into enough depth with characters like zack and especially sephiroth the gameplay wasn't much different from other games in the series, the number one reason its so popular is the fact that it was made more aware due to huge advertisement and the fact it had amazing graphics for the time, granted i love the game but it isnt my fav.
