With the hole game turned upside, Mario and Co. are brainwashed by the super-evil Dimentio, with none other than Count Bleck{now called Bluemiere again}, Tippi{human, again called Timpani}, Mimi, O'Chucks, and we can't forget about Mr. L, who somehow didn't get brainwashed{but he's Luigi. Darn.}. As they travel through new worlds, trying to get to Dimentio so he won't try to take over the world again!

Dimentio was the best Mario villian ever. His character was only vaguely described and you never really knew what he was thinking behind his creepy smile. You're never able to tell what his true intentions are when playing the game. Find out he was the main villian was a huge shock for me when I first played this game. Also, his persona is so evil. In the arcade game Donkey Kong, which was the first appearance of both Mario and Donkey Kong, he was a villain who kidnapped Mario's girlfriend and threw barrels at Mario when he tried to rescue her. He's also the main antagonist of the Mario vs Donkey Kong handheld series.

I've only played one donkey kong game, I think it was donkey kong country for the gameboy color. In other words, I don't nearly as much about the DK series as I do about the Mario series.

That aside, Donkey Kong is still a Mario villain if you count the Mario vs Donkey Kong gameboy series.
