I gather from a quick search on the internet that it is deliberate, but could not find a reason. I know it does help to have the rudders in the propeller wash to increase the responsiveness of the yaw control. It looks like the outer rudders take advantage of this.
We were told that we would be going from 0 to 170 mph in about 2 seconds. There was a tremendous feeling of acceleration and I had to make sure I did not lose my grip on the camera. After a second bump and release from the catapult, it felt like a normal flight on takeoff.
oh man that is a nasty crosswind

Left yaw failure, why did they still shoot? One of the pilots should have been checking for control surfaces and aborted the launch.

uhhh.. why are only 3 of 4 rudders reacting on controls test at 0:53? Deliberate?

@aeronut2 That sounds about right. It still surely looks strange. But I guess it is intended as they clear the aircraft for takeoff..
