He missed the note really bad at 1:34..., flat at 1:42 but still much closer than when I saw him on the 6th, 2:04-2:09 he mixed up the words a bit, 2:49 to the end he is really bellow the pitch...
@RikkuTheBiscuit That is standard when someone replaces anyone in a Broadway show. Is he not good enough that he needs special treatment and can't prepare like any other Broadway actor?

Darren criss is just incredibly, amazing in General in acting and especially singing. He should do more broadway musical's when Glee is done. And even on its break. That's coming up. He could sub more for someone who backs out.
And just to think, this was all LIVE. I didn't see the show but I'm guessing this was while he was dancing or running around the stage or something and he had amazing control over his voice and UGH, I just melted!!!!
I personally think all three of these guys are very talented. My best friend got to see it with Daniel and I with Darren, and we agreed that each of these young men brought something different to the show, and I'm sure Nick is doing the same thing right now. With each of these actors, I'm sure J. Pierrepont was tweaked from interpretation, so I don't really see how you can compare between the three. Aside from that, very good show!! The choreography was amazing!
I went on the 21st (his 2nd to last show) and the show was sold out. He was absolutely incredible. And there were starkids EVERYWERE! Everywhere I looked I saw pink sunglasses! Im so proud of him for getting this far! :')

1:41 gives me chills every time. I saw the night show on the 14th and I cried for pretty much the entire show because he was just incredible. I had high expectations and he surpassed even those.
I think he may just be too genuine of a guy to play Finch. Too much real pathos. Although he did the cocky disconnect well in Harry Potter...so who knows.

I adore both Dan and Darren, and yes they both portray their characters differently, that doesn't mean it's bad! Darren had 2 WEEKS. I work in Musical Theatre and I would've DIED if I only had two weeks for such a show! I commend Darren. He's Harry Freakin Potter, and he's doing a wonderful job with this show!

I'm sure if Darren had the same amount of time to prepare for that show as Daniel did he would be at the same speed if not better. 2 weeks is not a lot of time esp. when your on a tv show that reherses and shoots 10+ hours a day.
@svchorusgirl01 and when he finishes the last show on the 22nd he flies out of New York Back to L.A for a 6am call time. That's hard for anyone, especially when u are coming across the freaking country.

As in the case of Dan getting the role, it was Rowling who had the final word. Some people at WB were unsure about casting him at first, until JK Rowling said that he was perfect for the role.
@Verdurousglooms For a University Production, AVPM certainly made Darren Criss and the Starkids who they are today. And you can certainly assume that there were MANY Starkids and Starkid fans that attended H2$ while Darren had his run, hence the nearly packed house every show..

It is a parody so yes it is different but different does not make is worse.. if you are a Harry Potter fan i reccomend you give it a shot (: not because of Darren, but because most of the Harry Potter fandom have seen it, and enjoy it!
